Thread: Stacking Special Defenses
What you need to do is find someone with both Pistoleer and Fencer Dodge mods/Ranged Defense Mods or whatever else you want to test. Make sure he or she has different values coming from the Fencer profession than he/she has from Pistoleer (i.e. if he or she has +30 from fencer and +30 from pistoleer, this won't work) and the larger the differential between the two numbers the better (as a difference of only +5 may not cut it unless you want to bump up the "200 shots" mentioned below to, say "1000 shots"). Hand a buddy a CDEF pistol and stand him at atbarely optimal range from your test subject. Let him start firing at at the test subject, whilethe test subjectholds a one-handed weapon. After, say, 200 shots, you count how many shots hit or missed and compare it to the total number of shots taken (or, if your testing Dodge, count the number of timesthe subjectsuccessfully dodged).
Thenyou have the subjectswitch to pistol and repeat.
Then you have the subject switch to polearm and repeat.
The have the subject try unarmed, just for the heck of it.
For Ranged Defense, if the mods stack no matter what weapon you're holding, you should get roughly the same results per trial. If the mods no longer stack, then you should expect to get different results for the first two tests. (In which case, the results of the third and fourth tests will depend on what your "Ranged Defense" is from the Pikeman and Teras Kasi tree, if any.)
For Dodge, if the results stack, you'd expect to get roughly the same results the first two tests, with Dodged-linked weapons, and to not Dodge at all in the third and fourth tests. If it no longer stacks across professions, you'd expect to get noticeably different numbers in the first and second tests (and still no Dodges in the 3rd and 4th).
There's always a chance these numbers could be misleading, but so long as the number of shots taken is relatively high per trial, you're likely to get good results.

dex is correct, they all still seem to stack. I havent noticed any difference after the patch (except the differences in the MOBs).
My favorite is +100 D v KD, lmao.
I am worried about the combat rebalance though

Have you conducted any tests against high level mobs like Krayts or Kimogilas? I'm just interested in your high lvl tanking abilities...
Haven't gotten a chance to try any Krayts, but I can take muliple Rancors at a time and never get touched.
Nightsisters of all types as well.
I'll try to find some Krayts and post me results.
Now all I have to do is to get some Swordsmen test the same to test counterattack
BTW, can you also tank the >200k HAM Nightsister Elders without getting hit?
You will get hit. High level mobs now have insane accuracy. Try a carnage champ, and that bad boy only has 50k hp.
High lvl mobs = higher hp higher lvl
Still, the guy said he didn't get touched, so I was just asking for confirmation.
I do get hit. For instance: I got aggroed by 3 Enraged Rancors and got hit 1 time in the whole battle and I eventually killed all 3.
I have killed Nightsisters up to Arch Witch and have not been hit by a normal attack, only force moves....which is an interesting point:
It seems that i do not evade special state attacks etc..
For instance I can kill Karmuth Defilers and never take dmg from an attack, but still be diseased. I am also vunerable to dizzy, blind, stun in the same manner.
btw deX, It was me you dueled. I thought you would pick up on that and realize that I do take some dmg, just not a lot (although I think your accuracy is better than most MOBs, even still after the patch
Anyway, I will post back if I can find some Krayts soon.
cheers,
Wonder how much exp a krayt dragon would give in esimation if solo'ed? heh. Seems impossible heh.
I believe the expe cap is around 5000 and 500 combat?

It's a little more than 5000/500, I think.
I killed Lord Nyax by myself two days ago (after dying about ten times), and he gave me 507 combat XP.
I'm master Pistoleer and alittle Fencer "still working on it.
But if you ask me YES they do stack " dodges from pistol and fencer"... before patch i could near tank a Jedi with just Master CM/CH in group now .... cause MOBs being harder I can't do it so easy ... but In PvP good luck tying to hit with doctor buffs you can Kill many before you fall..Dodge is very good skill if ask me.... but.... downfall to it... when YOU are dodging alot I MEAN ALOT you near stop and can't move..cause all dodging your doing that is the downfall to it if you ask me.
Belive it or not I like I like Master Pistoleer/ Fencer so well going for masters in both of them and not evn going do the holo thing ... you know why... cause belive that working a skill to drop it is just retarded... but lucky i got 2nd account for jedi =)
