I never suggested or implied that I agreed with the original posters idea for an AP 1 stun baton. I don't agree at all; I think it would be a horrible idea.
All I was commenting on was the argument some of the poster's detractors used that essentialy said "Fencers rock in PvP so for the sake of balance you have to suck at PvE".
I DON'T agree with that line of reasoning. I think every profession should have a viable role in PvP AND PvE, and I think the developers see it my way. Hopefully the resurrected combat balance will give every profession its role (and monkeys might also fly out my backside).
Anyway, I may have implied that I think fencers suck in PvE but I didn't intend to. We don't suck, we just take a long time to kill the big game content. I happen to think we take a bit too long, and I'd like to see us get one or twomore (AP 1) weapons and especially more damage types to allow us to pick and choose the best weapon for a given situation. Being a fencer should involve the ability to think on your feet and the versatility to react to a given situation with the right tool for the job. If you just want to "PwN" everything in your path whilst wielding the biggest hunk of steel you can find then Fencer isn't the profession for you.
