Thread: ultimate defensive build?

That is close to my current template...Master TKA/Master Pistoleer/Fencer 4440...The major skill mods are:
Dodge +195, D vs. KD +120, D vs. Dizzy +85, Melee D. +181, Ranged D. +121
I find that the only thing lacking is a ranged KD/posture change move so that I can catch up and use TKA Dizzy+KD...However, I find the defense mods and dodge allow me usually to jus' run at a PC in PvP until I can get close enough to use the TKA moves....Once the opponent is KD'ed, I usually have several choices...Mash Unarmed Head Hit 1, usually against buffed opponents...Stack all 4 health bleeds...Or slam Body Shot 3 on them...
Fully doc buffed and PB'ed, this template is a terror in PvP...Throw in some muon + brandy and you are looking about 2.5k mind in addition to your doc buffs...Fun stuff...If you haven't tried this template, you really should...=P

I like riflemen so I'd want to keep that somewhere in the build, although my primary concern is defense.

Try this: Master Brawler, Master Fencer, 4304 TKA, 4040 Pistoleer, 0400 Marksman.
A master fencer plus a 4040 pistoleer actually has 185 dodge, not 160. Fencers also have the most effective center of being, which is the most important part of any template combo. Without it, you'll still get hit.
Master TKA doesn't have the secondary defense to push them into the 'uber' category for defensive templates. They're still good, but you'll get hit a lot more often.
I have 120 defense vs kd, 100 defense vs dizzy (with +5 in attachments), 90 defense vs blind, 55 vs stun, and I think 110 vs posture change. I can stand in the middle of 5 ranged people with CoB running, and I'll get hit less than 1 in 15 shots. The defense is top of the line. However be prepared for one thing: using fencer, even complimented by master brawler (necessary for pvp), you're going to have a hell of a time killing anyone who has good buffs. The inability to hit the mind pool absolutely cripples fencers in pvp.
If you catch someone unaware, it's not too awful. KD+Dizzy and then just whack away at their health bar until they die, but someone with good composite can outheal your damage with novice medic, especially if they're kiting (they always do).
That's my 3 cents about my template, and all of my pvp experience. If you're a BH now (I was before changing), you're in for a huge change. ![]()
In PvP it takes about 3-4 people to take me, or another buffed def stacker, but i very rarely get beaten one on one.
The master rifleman/master fencer/tka set up is mint also, pretty much untoucable.
