Thread: Mandolorian Armor, We can't Wear It?

Kanglee: Scythe has been around since Geo Lab (last month) they got Executioners Hack this month. If they can give one prof something then they can give something to the rest.

Mansun: Im glad the guy who appears to have played for two months could give us his input, anyone else you'd like to tell that fencer is the most leet prof in the game? Because well looking at my server, all ive seen thus far are TKA, Rifleman, and Heavy Swordsman, look around at some of the other posts, Rifleman, Heavy Swordsman can solo Krayts, Nightsister Elders etc etc... Fencers can't do **edit** in the Deathwatch Bunker because of the different resists, yeah so you **edit**s use more skill points than us, a leet prof is a leet prof at other profs can't be given nothing while some are given everything. I could care less about fencers soloing Jedi's its the Jedi's who care about this not me. If a Jedi can beat me, thats basically logical. SO! here comes the major points, Fencers recieve no damage bonus, fencers have not recieved any new weapons thus far, fencers have hardly had anything done to further our profession and if you look back at a post page 2-3 if i recall, were looked down upon as a low end combat profession. Either nerf all the profs or improve them all, Mansun tell me would you prefer if whatever your noob 2 month prof is was nerfed? We need to improve the professions, im not sitting here claiming that fencer is the only one. But i can't honestly say that a Heavy Swordsman needs anymore friggin weapons, because they don't. I'm not whining, only stating to make the game fair or drop the game period. There's no point in making SWG another "Evercrack". I agree with one point you made but only 1/4th of it, you said the profs that get to wear it use more skill points than us, i agree with that on the Bounty Hunters terms, but Commando's, C'mon when you can master TKA and Commando, both a melee and a ranged profession and still wear Mandolorian armor, it aint wasting your skill points you get twice the good without even double taking the situation. Ranger only requires Master Scout to get to, is that using a ton of skill point? Nnnnnnot really.... Squad Leader takes only 3 skill tree's to accomplish, because like you said those who wore mandolorian armor were heavy fighters, and we all know how heavy of fighters Squad Leaders are, the last time I saw someone waste their time with that prof was oh wait yes! A HOLO GRINDER!!! My favorite!!! So basically two of the profs that can wear it dont require as many skill point as you say they do, two of those professions are **edit** fighters anyways, one prof actually deserves it skill points wise and one shouldnt need mandolorian armor being TKM and Master Commando. (Comments Back? Or is two months of experience not enough for an answer?)

Two months or two years doesn'tmatter. Everyone has the right to voice their opinion. That being the case, I will voice mine.


Regarding Fencers being deadly........I honestly can't agree. Yes, we can dodge a great deal of attacks, but in the end, the damage we can do just doesn't add up. Unless you have an Ackley stun baton equipped then you are truly limited. But that is ok. That is called balancing. It would not be fair for a fencer to be able to dodge everything and also be able to dish out great amounts of damage. However, I do believe we deserve something else to make us more unique. And that leads me into my next point....


Duel Wielding........I have asked TH many times when this is going in, but I have received no response, and I have not heard it mentioned since the first time it was brought up. Personally, I think that the best time to introduce this would be the combat balance. I hope that this alone will give us a more unique feel and give us a better edge in combat.


Fencers role in the Deathwatch Bunker........Meat shields. Pure and simple. We are extremely valuable. Without us and TKM's, the ranged fighters and healers would get their butts handed to them. We are unable to do the damage, but that is not the point. If you, as a Fencer, go to the DWB, put your ego aside and exist to help the group. Simple as that.


Mandalorian Armor.........We cannot wear it, but in the combat balance, we may be given certifications to wear a specific armor already in game and also we may lose the ability to wear other types of armor. The combat balance will determine our future.



And lastly, since Rangers were brought up in this thread, I will respond to the comments made about them. The skill points expended to get master ranger leaves you with enough to master one other combat profession. Thats it. For the skill points needed to master ranger, you do not get much. Half, if not nearly all of our skills, are useless right now. Camps have been thoroughly destoyed as they serve no purpose whatsoever anymore. Areatrack only extends out 500m and does not pick up creatures or NPC's that have not spawned yet. Camo takes a lot of resources to make, and breaks easier than maskscent. Our harvesting is a joke.Put it to you like this. A novice scout with his skill points spent on multiple combat professions can harvest more than I can, as he can simply kill a vast amount of creatures much faster than I can. A +120 harvesting droid in my possession can harvest more than I can. And we can only harvest one resource at a time. Oh, but hey, we can sure crawl fast can't we? That sure makes up for all those skill points (140 to be exact) used to get Master. Bounty Hunter and Commando may use a few more skill points, but at least they are useful for the most part. Squad Leader and Ranger are beyond obsolete right now.

The Geo-labs was opened in pub.6 (we are in pub 8 now) so its a liiiilte over a month ago, check your calender pleace..


In this point in the SW era Boba fett has the ONLY surviving suite of mando armor, so if anything it shouldent be given out at all. So now that it is, it is given to the "Heavy Soldier" type profs. now thats only fair in my mind. (the mandoloriens were commnando like soldiers with big weapons, not sticks and swords)


Plus that BH, and Commando are two of the most nerfed and broken proffesions in the entire game. they need something to make up for the nerfs they have gotten!



what will be the next?? a Fencer whining that he can not kill Jedi solo anymore after the combat rebalance..??

Although I wouldnt have put it so harshly, YES, I couldnt agree more. Fencers have absolutly nothing to complain about in this department, especially since all the profs which get mando cost more skill points.

if everyone could wear the armor sooner or later it would just be like composite now...common...and i think its good its only limited to only those few professions....and you shouldnt worry about it to much...more than half of us will never get to wear one or even get one...

From what ive seen Not many people without more credits than they know what to do with will sport the sexy new mando and i agree the fencers need an new wepon i mean there are only 2 dmg types to choose stun and kenetic mabe a heat rod................

To the person that said Mando's use big guns, all the ones I've fought so far have just run up on me and started laying out the Tera Kasi moves. I've not seen one equipped with any weapon thus far.

ok, first off......... Fencer doesnt really need a new weapon. we have the damn stun baton. the stun baton is amazing!!!!!! Most armor out there is vulnerable to stun. yes, some of hte new composite is getting 30% resits. but 30% isnt that much. I am not far in fencer at all, but I love it!!! the only profession I have found htat I like more is heavy swordsman. now, like someone said, swordsman got 2 new weapons. the scythe and the hack...... well, let me tell you this, the scythe is a pve weapon for me mostley becuase everyone has 80% resists to kinetic, and the hack..... well, it is a decoration. all you people do is cry, and whine, cry, and whine. I am a master heavy swordsman and I get my ass handed to me on a plate by fencers.

Frankly it seems EVERY profession is whining. But it is true, while fencer's don't get hit often, they don't have the firepower.Heavy Swordsman, Riflemen, and TKM have stolen my kills countless times because they can dish it out faster. I think fencer deserves a new weapon just as much as Ranger, Squad Leader, etc. need a boost. Oh yeah, in PvP fencers are horrible. Alot of good dodging does ya when ur knocked down and too dizzy to get up. Thats my 2 cents
