lol shady, I agree we should get an upgrade in damage...but...SHHHHHHHHHHHh keep it quiet, we dont want more people to flock to this proff and ruin it

yeye... but if there was a schematic.. with components that are very difficult to come by (like RIS armor) it would offset the power that would come from the weapon. Maybe something like acid dmg (poison tipped) with 250 max dmg unsliced and ap 1 or 2.

i say that they just give us a new weapon entirely...something that we can loot....all other brawler professions can get looted weapons(besides tka) i think we should be able to loot a new ap 1. That way not everyone would ahve one.

I think we all can agree....an AP1 weapon of significant use (this doesn't include our weak AP1 weapon we currently have) would be great. I made it all the way though the Geo Cave tonight solo, took quite a long time when I had to face the force kliknik's and enhanced kwi's, but I made it to the end. I get to the Acklay, ready to do battle. I lasted for 10mins give or take a min or two. I'm a master doc so I'm able to heal my status wounds, health, action, etc. I'm banging away on it all I can. After all that time, I only took away 1/4 or so of it's health. It was a nice try, but oh well. It's not meant to be and I figure it's impossible to do. I gave it a shot, and those are the challenges I look for. I might try it again with a higher set of armor (I was using a low ham suit with the idea that I'd rather wear that out than an 80-90% suit), although I'm not sure it would work. The damage just isn't there.

stun baton's fine we don't need to touch that. I still think that adding AP 1 to the curved sword would be excellent. I bought a curved sword and a ganderiffi baton from a master weaponsmith. The urved sword had 217 max damage... only 3 less then the gaffi at 220. The only real difference between the 2 weapons is the ham cost. The sword has a much higher ham cost. This could be countered if the curved sword had ap 1. Both weapons would be useful.
1.) curved sword: high damage at a high ham cost
2.) gaffi stick: same damage but no ap at a much lower ham cost

right perhaps my last post wasn't clear shouldn't really post after getting drunk after a 12 hour shift but thats my mistake. her goes with regards to ppl asking for a ap one weapon you would effectivly change the whole class, fencers do well in pvp, a fencer is as good as a tka in pvp. now with regards to pve the role of the fencer in pve is to take the heat off of the rest of the group because of his great defence he can occupy a creature or npc's while the group destroy's it this is effectivly the same role as a tka but they have ap1 and weaker defense, but a pure tkm has a much trouble soloing high lv pve content as a fencer. It is designed this way as the other two melee profs have a higher pve damage output this is due to the variation in dmg type and medium ap, but the trade off with these is the accuracy loss and speed loss which makes themmuch less effective in pvp. I played as a tkm for several months and belive that i 'mastered the profession' but after tireing of pvp i left to become a swordsman as i wanted to target the high level pve content and leave pvp for a while, if you want better offense verses the high lv pve you have to make the decision to take another prof you cannot simply expect the devs to upgrade your chosen profession to be 'uber' in all areas because you want to be able to do everything. the only prof that is efficent in both is master rifleman and this is becasue it is broken, master rifleman wer never meant to be asaccurate or as fast in pve with the jawa stun and hopefully the dev's will fix this soon, but it is unreasonable to expect your chosen brofession to be buffed up until you effectivly negate the need for other profs.

I'm perfectly happy using my vibroblade. I swing it for free with foods and drinks, and I can hit forever. Sure it's max damage is 147, but it's ap1. A Gaffi in the 250 range, vs AR1 is doing -50% or 125 max. My VB is still doing max 147 cuz of the AP1. And, at HAM 11/22/11, I'll be hitting whatever for far longer than if I have a gaffi equipped.
At higher ARs, the vibroblade maintains a distinct advantage over the gaffi. I think most people just like seeing big numbers in the combat window, rather than looking at it from the practical aspects.
