Fencer Archive
Thread: FC, please enlighten us
I agree, Chaser needs to post more or at least let us know whats going on. I stopped comming to this board once i realized he wasn't actually doing any corrisponding. We need some posts to at least explain the lack of posts chaser. From our standpoint you came in as Corrispondant, was greeted warmly, started abotu 5 topics and moved around the stickys, then promptly let the forum die into more pointless posts of 'Fencer vs. (profession)' and 'PvP Template' and 'We need weapons other than a tusken walking stick'
I understand that you may be hard pressed to find too many issues with our profession and not sure what more topics you can start but i dunno.. some posting would be nice at least.

In fact, the gaffi I'm using atm has a worse slice than the vb, but it's still being the wonderful trooper that it is. so i agree with you that a craftable ap1 gaffi is a superb idea, i even said it in the original thread, but the ap2 vb would give us less of a damage increase over the ar2 enemies and would be better for balance.and for the swords, i admit to exaggerating a bit, since the speed cap is only hit if you don't spam specialsbut i wouldn't by any means call it unbearably slower, if you watch the combat log instead of the animations, a speedy cleaver or 2h curved hit roughly thrice every 5 secs, however i wasn't fortunate enough to be a 2h master when scythes were out so i can't say for sure.
Umm... well yeah. I bought a vibroblade today for **edit**s and giggles. Been a blademaster for 4 months and have never owned one. I would never use the thing in any serious fight. Even if it magically became ap2, I wouldn't use it. The damage range is disgusting on it. The only real benefit of it is the ham and even then its not that big of a deal (I'm acustomed to using specials with a 80/90/100 monster of a gun).
Now heres my main point. What makes more sense: a light armor piercing one-hand weapon or a medium armor piercing one-hand weapon?
There really is no reason to add an AP2 version of the VB. The only thing it may be useful for is say something like a Night Sister Protector. However, the damage won't be that different compared to using a regular gaffi and I suspect the DPS will be somewhat similar (do to the 120 point difference in min). Want ap2? Pick up 2hand or pike. There is no justification for an AP2 one-hand weapon. It wouldn't make us anymore effective (there isn't a thing you'd kill with an ap2 VB that you can't kill with a AP0 or AP1 gaffi). It would be just adding a weapon for the sake of adding a weapon, and we already have too many of those (Rantok, Ryyk, Curved Sword, etc).
As for the two-hand speed, well if you're happy with 3 hits in 5 seconds more power to you. To me it felt sluglish especially when fighting someone who does 5 hits in 5 seconds (a master fencer). Yeah blast damage and medium armor piercing is nice (when you actually have a good ap2 weapon), but I'd rather have those extra hits for applying states, healing, etc. Then again I know that at any point I can fall back on an ap3 weapon that I fire once a second with any special.

Keeping it short.................. Nothing new to tell sorry guys.
Hehe, thanks for responding. All I wanted was some light, but I understand that at this time you're unable to spill the beans to us common folk. ![]()
I'm sorry, if in any way one of my recent posts offended your "absence" from these boards, I did not intend to do so. However, I must agree with Rizzaka and Taycie that we'd appreciate morevisits here from you. Even just to say that you know something new that may interest us, and hope the devs will let you speak in time. Any tidbit, be it redundant or whatever, I'd still like to know what's going on with a prof I've been dedicated to since August (the registry date doesn't take into account your free month) ![]()
This is not a flame, insult or anything of the sort; I just want to reiterate Rizzaka's point that we'd like you on this forum a little more for whatever reason it may be.
