just as a general comment....while fencers may lack in dealing out big time damage, they are by no means ineffective in PvE. i can solo any Nightsister sans elders (100% resist versus kinetic and stun = thank me for coming out), and can clear the Force Crystal Cave by myself with a bit of luck (meaning not getting gang r*ped by 6 hunters at a time). these are the only two things i've tried since becoming master, and i'm anxious to see what else i can tackle out there. listen, what fencers lack in damage, they make up for in our incredible defense mods (especially CoB...USE IT). i've been out withHSs huntingon many occassionsand i find that im just as effective (not to be confused with effecient) inPvE as them...it just takes us fencers a bit longer .

I don't have a problem soloing or tanking anything with less than 100% kinetic and 100% stun. And I don't mind tanking the other stuff, for people with the ability to damage them. 3 friends and I took outan NS elder last night, after I tanked her for about an hour (switching on and off with one of the guys' pet, until the guy got killed and his pet stopped helping). Was fun, and I got to see the immense value of Intimidate Cuz that's all I could do to her.

that's quite the understatement...


and i never said i couldn't kill stuff, tank stuff, seduce stuff, etc. that's not the point. the point is we do little damage in pve toanythingwith ar2 or ar3, since these baddies usually have some form of armor resistance to stun.

Isn't damage through armour based on the fact that even wearing armour, any armour automatically halves the damage taken by a hit simply because its ar1 (assuming being hit with ap0 weapon or baton in this case), with the suit resists acting after that ?


As a master commando previously this theory stood up as the flamey is ap0 and against unarmoured targets i would hit for 1500-ish, against a 60% resist comp suit i was hitting for 300-ish and against other masters with high mitigation even less.



But that aside, you just have to love fencer for the cool moves and ability to make a cup of tea with 6 squills on you


Its all about what makes it fun for you at the end of the day

A comment on the Stun Baton for PvP. Yes it's true that the max Stun Resist Composite can get is like 45% but it's much more common for it to be around 20% or less. The real killer here, is that the second you get even 1% Stun resist, and it's no longer a vulnerability which means it becomes AR1. Now not sure if you've checked, but the Stun Baton (and Geo Pistol) is AP0 meaning that even with a 1% Stun resist my 160 Max Stun Baton can now only hit for 80 against him and it get's progressivly worse with better % resists.
