Fencer Archive
Thread: All you want to be is a Fencer? =)
Well i appreate the critque. i really do, i am not the type of player that will take offence at this.
But the again i don't think that (to quote my self) 'owning' is an important thing at all, it is a nice bonus, but not at all what i am going for. The sniping is purely for my PA, they needed some one that could, simple as that.
So i wouldn't look on that as selling out. That is meeting a need.
However, if you have any sugestions that do not require a 180 deg turn i am welocme to them and would love to hear.
Overall i enjoy Fencing more than any thing else thus far. it is nice to have the ability to fight from any range though, i wont be caught defenceless from 60m out, if someone tries to take advantage of that.
To keep my honor at the fore, i never use my Rilfe in Duels, That is dishonorable.
To restate something, if you have any thing else you would like to critque post i would like to see it.
Thank you in advance.

Hey Silius,
Really at the moment there is no way to not be caught flat footed so to speak on open ground at range as just a Fencer, my commentary thru this thread is specifically for those who refuse to pick up a ranged weapon for one reason or another.
If I or anyone comes up with one I'll let you know.

I was thinking about 2 combos :
1. Fencer/Rifleman
2. Fencer/Ranger
Please share your thoughts on that ![]()
I'm a Fencer/Rifleman with a minor in Artisan, and I'm having a blast. I have my rifle that I've tweaked and tuned to do crazy damage, although it fires slowly, and my curved sword that does good damage at a decent speed. If I'm out alone, killing NPC humanoids and what not, I normally attack with my sword and take out the lot. If I'm hunting animals, I use my rifle, so I don't use up my sword on some animal. I'll also use my rifle in large groups, if there are some pretty fierce things we are trying to tackle I use my rifle and just pick them away until they are at a point I can charge in and finish them (Dark Jedi Master on Naboo comes to mind, the one time I went near him too soon tosword fight, I was dead in one swing)

I went pistol at the start, got pistoleer, shooting (pun) for disarm shot. Once I've got my opponent unarmed and bleeding I can move in with the sword.
Besides swords are far more glamorous than pistols.
If this was a Highlander game, that would violate the rules. Since it's not, that's a great idea for anyone who doesn't mind not benig a pure fencer.
