Thread: Why I'm Dropping Fencer as fast as I can

i gotta guildy and good in game friend who was master fencer/pitsoleer with some tka and i swear he is/was the best PVP'r i ve EVER seen
that si because the profession combination that he is using is the best PvP combo period. he should be able to take anyone one on one and more. it has pretty much the most special defense mods that you can haveon your character as wellas 4 stacking bleeds and mastery in a ranged proffession as well as a melee one.
the only problem with it is its not as good for PvE, its still really good mind you, just not as good as others
i was going to go that same path but i realized that i needed more in PvE so i got one that is almost as good(or maybe even as good) as that one in PvP but much better in PvE because i have doc skills

have fun trying to master fencer you ranged wimp
hehe **edit**!I leveled Fencer to where I am now in a week: I'm 4-4-3-4, I will be done by end of day today. Rifleman was 10X harder to level because if you take one melee hit you're dead. errr...but yes, I guess I am a ranged wimp.
For those of you who are so elite that you never die, congrats! Sadly, I don't hunt Gnorts anymore. With the creatures/NPCs I hunt all it takes is one time of my armor not stopping damage (1 out of 5 hits these days) and I go down from full health to incapped...and then of course DB'd before I hit the ground.
Like I said: Fencer is a fun and strong class, but with item destruction upon death, I have enough bugs to worry about without my armor doing nothing and me getting insta DB'd
For those who need training, I should have Fencer for a week or so, depending on what direction I go next and how quickly I level.

Get some sun, shesh.... No wonder you dont like the profession, you've never played it. You sat down at the monitor, stared vacantly into space and hit random keys power lvling your way to the top all because a little red pyramid in a video game told you to do so.
If you want to know whats really funny... all the people that are swearing by this holocron craze mastering profession after profession... out of all the hundreds if not thousands that are getting the silent message, five are close to the FS slot.. personally it cracks me up ![]()
instant deathblow?
hell, you gotta incap me first!
I've had2 incaps in the past 2 weeks.Oncewas caused bya Neutron Pixie downer. What an embarassing moment that was. Standing in a populated starport and I just fall over real silly like. Gotta thank the stat bug for that one. I normally just say no to the drugs but I needed to get my armor equipped and its not always possible when the stats go wonky.
The second incap was done by a Canyon Krayt Dragon. It did not deathblow me and thatended up beingits downfall. Well... that and the mighty bleeds that I stacked on it Non loot dropping bastards......
Wait, lemme guess. You were soloing things, right? And you got incapped, right? Well who else arethey gonna deathblow then? Eh?
Now what I always liked when I was but a learner, was being incapped by the Jabba thugs. They like to let you lay therefor a while. They wander around a bit and chat amongst themselves to pass the time. Then, justas your incap timeris on it's last 3 marks, one will saunter over and casually DB you. Then they taunt your corpse. What a hoot!
Other than that, I really never had a problem with being deathblowed on a regular basis. It just didn't happen to me. Then again, I usuallyfight creatures that dontdeathblow such as squill and bolmas.
Guess it all depends on what you are fighting.
You need a medic with ya...they can drag your incapped body 19 meters...then you are out of DB range ![]()

Yea I dropped Fencer also, The last patch added the insta death blow. Your only hope fighting dangerous creatures is to be in a big group buffed fully and have a master doc with you. Besides you cant put on a full set of composite without being buffed.

Hi,
I get incapped on regular basis. I kinda accept that now. It's no biggie. But I don't get instant DB. It's either from NPC who walks to me and DBs me or DBing mobs. All in all DB processes are as they are supposed to be. (DB sometime after hitting ground)I have never seen instant-DB.(I got only DBed once last few days on hunting trips. Big deal!
)
In terms of damage, I do 1000-6000 to prone targets now. I just do few good ol' dizzy/blind/lunge after warcry/intimidation. It's really great when they are already kneeling. Then I lunge and dizzy/blind.
Yeah, I don't think I would ever be able to kill AT-ST, but then my character isn't a siege-engine. I will let my commando friend deal with those. I will take care of non-bistander pedestrians.
... All in all, I think Fencer Profession is very very viable. ... Plus, this profession is unique in the fact that we can use various strategies to kill an enemy. (You blademasters would agree I am sure.) Very unlike some profession where all comes down to one special move alone.

I was meditating (TEF) Imperial uses mindshot I go incap..die 1 second afterwards. Lag..maybe; but the Imperial showed to be out of DB range.
no biggie.
I always remember to clone.
FYI, If he was a Rifleman, they can DB you from along way away ![]()
Sniper Shot...Ranged DB.
mind you i am a Wookiee, and cannot wear armor... this insta-db crap is just nay-saying... your just weak
vtw anyone on bloodfin i am opening a brawler club and will host tournaments in my house.. message me in game
name is in signature.
The insta DB thing is a bit of a pig.
I tend to play solo, this is mainly down to unreliable game time (RL interrupts mid session etc). Last night I was trying ot contact a mysterious Dr Vacca for the rebellion. As I fight solo I decided to grab a few rebel soldiers to help me out.
I left them behind a small rise to the south of the relay station, I then casual strolled toward the imperials and as one noticed me and headed my way I would head back past the rise where the rebel troopers would spring the trap and as the ST was concentrating on them I would sneak up and start hacking away at them. Its not pretty and it wasnt elegant, but the mission was important.
Having whittled down the ST's I forgot to put my armour back on after healing, One of the remaining imps virtually one shotted meand DB'd instantly, despite being under severe fire and without any pause whatsover.
I cant say I blame him, he was abviously going to die, so taking out an enemy was a laudable action, that said if I were a ranged bod plinking away it probably wouldnt have happened, and it resulted in an irritating 6k trek via the rebel commander to get back there.
I guess it is a risk that melee fighters will just have to live, er well die, with.
