Its becasuse your defenses are rediculously strong. I have pistol and carbine accuracy out the wazoo and im yet to hit a fencer. once.

I'm not affraid to say that I dont like the idea of stacking, I think it takes away from a proffession's speciality. I hate it when people ask me to train them..

I always ask "why", if they say i'm a Master Pistoleer ...I decline them or I will,if they can beat me in a duel using a sword and I will always almost DB them. If they tell me I want to train because the Holo told them to do so, I will tell them to duel me first....while I a may not DB them..I will use my poison sword...thus they die eventually anyway.

I wont spam the forums w/ my dislike...but I will RP it out in game.

Been a fencer now for 5 months. Wouldnt give it up for anything in the world. (yes I have opened a holocron) What gets me though are the stackers. I ran into a guy that took fencing for the bleed so he could add it to is flame 2-4 that he could use while his Mauler held the Krayt in place. I don't hate people who are joining the fencer ranks, Its just hard to find someone who is a "fencer" not just someone trying to work the proffessions to make some Ub3r 733+ dude.

and if I ever lost, I would train that person. But I am a Master...so if you are engaging me in a duel using "only" a sword I will always win.

well, now that holo fencers are people switching from other professions, you might have a harder time with the students. i've had a few students best me, lately.

i also roleplay out the distaste for holo fencers. i think i posted on that somewhere. it's definitely a good time and a good rp opportunity.

I just recently started along the fencer line, not because of a holocron (still haven't used one, probably won't ever follow one) or because the defenses will stack, but simply because I've been enjoying melee much better than ranged fighting.

I decided fencer over pikeman and heavy swordsman because I like the idea of 1-handed swords/knives better than the weapons of the other two.

since I'm mainly PvE with some occasional PvP, I'm not trying to build some uber l33t pvp char, I'm just trying to have as much fun with this game as I can.

Sorry if my reasoning may offend some of the old school fencers, but I'm having fun, and you guys are kinda stuck with me

Would you buy the exact same honda civi if it was the best on market or would you be abit original and go for say....a Harley even though it may slightly lack the power?

I would rather take a bike, or the bus to work instead of a honda, where are you from that a harley is a bit lack in power?

Well please tell me what the fun in being the same is? thats one of the reasons there are more than one race, profession and planets.

You come to this site so your not a true player? I've been playing for a month and I quite like the bords as I learn alot. It was a fact over a month ago that the Fencing profession was one of the rarest but what do you define as a "true player"?

ture player is some onewho plays the game for fun. not some one you say's.. "hey hey why are you taken moves from MY TREE... ITS MY TREE!!!.. i played CS aka Counter strike for 5 years nothing any one say's bothers me in SWG, even when i raid theed and it takes a at-st or 5 people to kill me, and they say i suck when they DB... i don't send /tell's saying.. OMG IT TOOK 5 OF YOU **edit**, thats a true player some one who has fun, and i come to these site's b/c i love it when some one like's you talks like this... i hardly ever get some one to step up and speak, but all in all, the cor's for the pistoleer, and the update's this is a good site

OOC: my problem w/ the stacking is the fact that it doesn't promote individuality...it has become a fad-draws negative attention..ultimately grief from non-Fencers..even if I dont have pistol skills I would be ridiculed as being a God because of dodge. What's worse ..any duel that I win will belessened..and this lessens me. So I cant wait until they seperate the two mods altogether.

Now in character...I play a Novice Smuggler (not just for dirty fighting) character devoted to the mental aspects of the TKA arts-and a Master Fencer. I treat me training others as a test...if your intentions are true...if I deem they are true...than I will train that person...if not, well read my above post. Simple as that.

this seems like everyone's doing what they want. no one here is right or wrong, but it seems people are getting defensive. stack or don't stack. be the same as everyone or be completely unique. it's your character. it's ok to be the same template or the rarest configuration.

instead of attacking someone else's decision, show me why i should stack and mix and match. or show me how that eventually leads to a poor gaming experience. i personally learn nothing from 2-67 people saying the other person is a powergamer, or a shortsighted elitist prig. give me some examples boys! show me you're right, don't show me the other guy is wrong.

i just think that would be more informative to me, so this is totally selfish in nature. plus it's like a political campaign in this thread here. whew! i'm voting green party on this one.
