We're talking pve, the only defense worth anything in high end pve is toughness. kd/pc to a lesser extent. If a high end mob has a state to put on you, its gonna stick.

I have both Teras Kasi Master and Master Fencer and the Defenses from TK helps... but not significant enough to keep... So I dropped TK and I am basically expending all of my SP in preperation for the respec, so I wouldn't be held back by the lack of spent SP to test new ideas and the such.

Actually, state defences DO help ALOT against high end mobs. On TC5, I made a defence stacker that had over 100 defence vs. all the states (besides intimidate), and I tanked an ancient krayt for about five minutes without EVER being dizzied, stunned, or blinded once! Granted, my dizzy defence was 125, and I had bio clothing on, but to run around being invincible to dizzy is really fun.
