dodge works if you have a 1 handed weapon equipped, ala a fencer weapon as well as a pistol.

Mind you, everyone and everything has a miniscule chance to do all 3, so you will Dodge once in a blue moon no matter what is equipped. That isn't the result of our bonuses though.

does this mod just work against ranged or everything?

And do I need to be using a pistol for it to take effect or could i use anything?

dodge works great at master pistoleer, and it works against melee and ranged, pvp it works less often depending on your opponents accuracy,

In the combat upgrade dodge has been removed and replaced with increased melee and ranged defense.
