Thread: Whats Your DPS?
I have 2 pre-cu stunbatons. They cost about 2million.
I'm master fencer, TKM, master brawler and my DPS is 489 with one of those. which I believe isn't bad.
I think you should be happy with your 510.
If it wasn't for that blasted 'Rooted' I'd still be able to kick a$$!!

What am I missing here? My buddy is trying to get back in the game, but a little upset over how gimpy his Stun Baton has become. His Est DPS is like 112. This was an uber Baton pre-CU. Are these numbers correct? I compared this to Baton's on multiple Vendors, and their Est DPS was ~70, so I figured his Baton was awesome comparitively. But now I'm hearing in the 300's. Please help me clear this up because this is a guy who wants to return, but is feeling awfully jipped...

Are you sure he didn't have an awesome gaffi stick, not a stun baton? See Gaffi sticks went down to a lower level certification making them less effective, andstun batons are now master level certed, so they are the craftable weapon of choice for fencers. My weapons minimum was higher than most people had for max damage on a stun baton before the curb. It also received a speed slice and speed effects dps post curb, where pre curb, you could have had like a 5.0 speed weapon and still hit once every second due to fencers being fast. When the weapons converted, I think the speed played a bigger role.
Tell him not to worry though, because the fencer weapons that are available with Rage of the Wookiee's are very good. He should be able to run a quest or two and have himself some really good weapons.
Another thing to note is my weapon used to be twice as powerful as a very good stun baton and post curb, I'm noticing it's only about 10% better than the quest weapons they're giving out. The variance in high end weapons doesn't seem to make that much difference, but I'm still trying to figure out how dps is figured. If it's just your damage output multiplied by your speed then higher dps isn't necessarily that great because you're just eating up your action faster. So another player just might take a bit longer to deal the damage. If anyone has a good idea how that works, I'd love to hear it.

You were correct. It was a Gaffi stick. I'll have him grab his best Stun Baton and see what happens. Alsotry to get him one of the new weapons from RotW. Thanks for the info!
