Thread: scatter hit.

is the fencer scatter hit borked again?

the other day i was fighting a fencer, and whenever he used scatter hit, 80% of his damage got through my armor. when he used any other attack only 10-20% got through.

i know there was a bug that made scatter hit ignore armor back in the day... has a new patch re-borked this skill?

yes i was wearing 45% armor with a 48% psg. i know how armor works, so dont ask me if it was broken etc, been playing since launch. any other attack he did to me like his lunge was deflected properly. we are not talking armor holes or anything like that.

on the hits where he used scatter, 80% of his damage got through. therefor a fencer with a stun baton was hitting me for from 400 - 600 damage, and i was barely blocking 90 each time. riflemen cant hit me that hard with a 700+ jawa, wich has armor pericing, so why can a fencer?

i'm confused.

I'm glad someone else besides me noticed this... I was beginning to wonder when scatter hit was hitting 3x as much as melee hit 3 in pvp.. Lets be very very quiet,... and see if the Devs don't notice

Hi ROT, lunge attack is a x 1.5 dammage attack and scatter is a x 3 dammage so the dammage is going to be greater. and is sounds to me as if you are using a sliced psg these seldom work. check the dammage the psg get. But I will test it out on my guild members to check if scatter hit is broke.

1) Scatterhit never ever bypassed armor. It bypassed melee toughness, dodge, counterattack, block.


2) No it's not bugged again. Perhaps he was using a stun baton and you weren't wearing a full stun armor suite?

dude... even if his PSG isnt working... he still had stun armor on. I dont care how good of a stun baton you have you are more then likely NOT gonna be hitting for 400-500 with it against stun armor in PvP (unless it was made with EXTEREMELY GOOD acklay bones). might be bugged again... ill have to run some tests when I get home...

guys, the ammount of damage he was doing has no bearing on my question. for all i care he has a 800-1000 stun baton. no the problem is how much was getting through my armor. i've checked everything, my armor is all great condition, none of the resists are diminished. my PSG might have bugged but when i checked it after the fight it still said 48% stun. so he got 80% of his damage through 45% armor and 48% psg. if we assume the PSG is bugged its still too much.

if stun batons had AP3 this would make sense. but they dont. (and also if stun batons had AP3 his other attacks would get 80% through as well anyway... it was the attack that ignored my armor, not the baton.)

The PSG is bugged, when you travel/shuttle you have to turn the PSG off then back on to get it to wrk. Tested this it's TRUE. Had a PSG that was always on & the PSG never degraded even when I was being shot at etc........ So, I turned it off then back on & wow all of a sudden the PSG was taking most of the damage & started to degrade.


So, now after I shuttle anywhere I turn off my PSG then turn it back on.

The problem here is that much of this is pure speculation. In order to make a case, you'll need a testing partner, some combat spam logs, and actual data rather than some intuitive declaration.

The test would be simple, and I would be happy to assist you where I can if you'd like to develop some hard evidence.

Yup. It's called "cycling" your PSGs.. and it's essential. Make sure you always unequip your PSG before you shuttle, and re-equip it when you land.. anywhere.


If you did cycle your PSG.. then I have no clue and would be interested in seeing testing results.
