I just thought I'd start this thread to share funny stories about being a Swordsman. I'm only 0/2/0/2 right now, but last night I dueled and beat a Master Pikeman. I dueled him a few times with my armor on, and he whooped me, but as soon as I took the armor off and my secondaries came back, I wasted him. I was still at near-full ham. Haha..

yes everyone knows we suck *cries* plz stop rubbing our noses in it.

I've been dueling my pistoleer friend since I took up swordsman, I'm 0-4-0-4 now, and I utterly school him every time. we must have dueled 20 times and not once did he manage to incap me. the closest he ever came was when he said "screw the pistol" and pulled out his one-handed sword (he's a fencer too) and dizzied and KDed me. it was okay though, because my mind bleed kept working on him, and I lasted long enough to stand up and tap his head one last time to knock off that last point of mind.

yes, swordsman does rock. and btw the above fight was made that much harder because he's a zabrak and the FIRST time his mind almost hit zero he used equilibrium and it was full again.

I'm Swordsman 0214 now and using a powerhammer. should I use another weapon? Should I fight without my composite?

The way I see it, you should only be fighting with armor is if it has low encumberances, as well as having master doctor buffs and some food on hand to counter the effects of the armor.

I would use 2h curved sword until you mastered techniques......then you will speed cap...and since you already have finesse you are already accurate. I am 1/4/4/3 and only use my hammer for bleeds till i get 4th box in finesse.

try it with a friend that won't db you both ways and see if the bonuses are worth the cost.

I just restarted my character - I used to be v close to MBH as a rodian. I was fed up of being a bug, so deleted and restarted with the idea of going Fencer, Master Brawler - withone other profession (I will think about that later).

I had plenty of cash with my old character, so I went right ahead and bought the best weapons I could to start me off on my new fencer path.

It is great! This is the most fun I have had playing SWG in a long time. I love being a n00b again and using my knowledge of the game from before to level up fairly fast - I had 1hand melee 4 in a bout 3 hours - and am now half way towards novice Fencer. I will never go back to BH now, melee is the bomb!

Great FAQS in here, really helpful for someone starting out. Keep up the good work guys!

Also, one qeustion - what would be a good template for me to go for? I am thinking about getting into pvp (never did it before except the odd duel - which I always lost as a BH), I want Mbrawler for the knockdown move - I understand fencer has none. Any other suggestions?
