Thread: Young Fencer wants to know about armor
Hi everyone, I am training for Novice Fencer and I have Expert 1h. I want to know what kind of armor I should wear, if speed is everything for a fencer. Is there a light type of armor? Or am I forced to stick with designer clothes, casual shirts, and vests? Please reply.
You have a long journey ahead of you my friend good luck. As for armor i wore some mabuire ( kinetic armor) for a while but i think i just fought better with out it. I dont wear it right now but you never know.
I had a whole suit of bone armour for a while when I first started. Then after reading some posts here I tried fighting without it and noticed a significant difference in my effectiveness. Right now I don't wear any armour and have not for a while.
Just get yourself some nice threads and be happy in the fact you don't look like the 20000 other gun-boys with thier rifles and bone/chitin armour suits. Your one of a very select few, enjoy it. ![]()
I dont wear armor either. I wear the clothes they gave us in the beginning mostly because it doesnt take damage its always 1000/1000 and its perma insured I think. So that saves us some credits.
I used to wear Maribi, Chitin, and Bone had full sets of all, but then i started wearing Cloaks and Spec ops dusters, along with matching black clothes. Not only does it look cooler..(hehe) but it doesnt hinder your stats.
So...if you want to be a fencer, dont wear armour, it looks bad hinders your stats, lowers your speed. Look the part, dress well...lol.

I'm so glad to hear this. Armor is no fun. Clothes are.
And swords!
Any armor (except basic bone) gives you a 50% off kinetic damage. That's darned nice. You don't need a full suit of it, though. So even cheap mabari or chiton works terrific. Myself, I wear a chiton chest plate, leggings, and helm. That's it. With a stun baton, I look like I'm ready for a riot.
A suit of bone with a kinetic layer has very minimal HAM costs and is dirt cheap.
My 70% kinetic resist helmet cost me a bundle, but when you die on mind, it's the thing to have.
