Thread: Is Fencer really all thats its cracked up to be

It is more than 80% when you factor in the fact that we have no armor peircing weapons. Even our saving grace anti-armor type weapon thing gets reduced horribly by armor, since no one doesnt have stun armor now. Fencer damage output is not, and was not recently, ever really good. Fencer/TKA puts your passive defense mods very high, and as a result you will be really hard to kill. You will be a good tank.

Don't get me wrong, we do hit a properly prepared person for crap, but it's not that bad.
Think of it like this. You hit somebody6 times for 75 each swing, for a total of 450. The other person swings at you6 times and hits once for 300. Who wins? Defenses are huge.
I dueled a TKM/fencer and lost a while back (my other char. is a fencer/doc). When I saw that my stun baton wasn't doing squat for damage I switched to my vibroblade (180max damage). When the fight was over he was so hyped up about our "new" weapon since he had never heard of it then had the nerve to compare it to his VK's. Sad that our only ap1 weapon is neglected into obsurity isn't it.

The stun baton is AP0 so any defense vs. stun like a psg or stun layered armor and the damage gets an automatic 50% damage reduction THEN has to be calculated against the resists. If you hit a 45% stun chestplate for 200 it goes ( 200 -50%= 100 -45%= 55) ALL stunweapons unenhanced are usually low damage compared to regular damage weapons so you'll have to be quick on your feet to keep up with someone who's prepared

Stun armor comes out around 65 base or so.
True that we hit people without stun protection for a decent amount though.
But yea, defenses are what makes fencer good, so blind as much as possible and stay centered all the time and youll be impossible to hit.
Yes the base protections are 65% but Stun isn't one of them. Look at your stun Armor, the Stun value is lower then the others. Max is about 45%.
Ackley bones are more rare but as more and more get out, the prices will come down.
A vibroblade also can slice up to over 200. That is not a bad weapon.
