How often do we dodge as master fencers, and can you dodge range attacks?

I am a master gunfighter if that means anything, do i have to have a pistol equiped to dodge or will i dodge if using a rifle or carbine, or even a flamethrower etc?

There's another DFR? I know this has nothing to do with your post but I am the leader of DFR on Flurry. Just wondering what your PA stands for... thanks

Pistoleer dodge whenever you have a 1-handed weapon equipped which means a pistol or a fencer sword.

The success of dodge depends on the accuracy of the attacker, higher level mobs have higher accuracy and so hit more often. But against medium level mobs you will dodge quite alot (the hits that get past your melee/ranged defences).
Also you can dodge any attack, melee or ranged. Nothing better than seeing a group shooting at you and you dodging all the shots
