Now, granted...fencers arent exactallysynonymous with the tank that most melee classes are. Still, I cant take a hit! My stats are great, I have skill mod clothes, Ive got advanced skill in everything but the combat exp tree... So whats the problem?

My weapon. Im too fast. In my head, the fencer was always like a dancer with a blade. Look at the SW movies! (Well, episode one and two) My weapon (80-90 1.7 60/30/15) makes it impossible to do special attacks. Why not get a different weapon with a low HAM alla Vibroblade? Because that renders me equally as useless. I consistantly do half as much damage with the best Vibroblade on the market...and as far as the other weapon classes go...*grumble*

I dont think Ill find a single person disagree with the fact that the fencers greatest asset isher speed. And boy howdy is that there, Im fast as lightning. My problem is that when attacking so fast I cant possibly use special moves as they were intended, and when berserk I take just as much damage without being able to concentrate on one bar or status attacks.

Im just fed up. Creature Handlers and blaster kids have us all fed up, but at this point Im seriously useless. Take out the pets, and any ranged fighter at an equal level is clearly superior. All Im asking for is balance, a way for us to play the game without thinking "Why am I a Fencer again? Sure it looks cool, and its what I want to be...but GOD Im tired of getting killed."

Explain to me why you think special moves were meant to be used in every attack. They certainly are not or else they wouldn't be very special now would they? Most of the elite professions have high ham costs on their better weapons. You think you've got it bad? PIck up a carbine.

Special moves were not ment to be used every turn, but on the same hand they were ment to be used. Since I dont have a posture change attack, the best I can muster is Dizzy+Thrust. Thats two. After that, I can wack away at random bars, or use the major special attack of a fencer...which wacks away atone bar REALLY HARD. Health hit? Sure, make em bleed, thats another injury. Body hit? Maybe if it wasnt underpowered... More than one mob? Spin hit.... I want to be able to use these moves without thinking "Well, it will kill me...but its awful useful."

Special attacks are not "special" enough to support your line of thought.

If it eats up your HAM SO MUCH that you can't use a SINGLE special, thats like a noivce brawler trying to use a STUN BATON. Geez.

Give me a break, thats not what Im saying and Im pretty sure you know it. Im saying that using specials is too costly and not using them is, well...too costly.

Noob, Your whininggive us fencers a bad name. Go ahead and delete your guy, make a BH and stop crying about dying. It doesnt sound like any adive we give will help you change your attitude/playstyle...

first im ust say i gree with rest of the crowd. But a couple questions ral quick about the siuation so i can better help you. First off what weapon are you using? Second what are you fighting? Third What server are you on? If a weapon has that high ham cost no matter what the damage you going to have alot of downtime. Get medic make stims is the best i can offer. The fact is you are too addicted to the damage to realize that there may be other factors more important to your sucess. If you still want to use that weapon i suggust picking up a fast dagger or vibroblade and adding your current weapon and the new to hotkeys. This way when you need moves like lunge+dizzy you can use the daggeror vibroblade (much lower ham) for these costle moves where damage doesnt matter. Then you can bring out your big one and finish them off. Thats all i got to say right now.

Dear God, if this is what the fencing community has to offer I might just delete my character.

Some of would be glad to try to help you if you would just give us more details on the situation.

I am almost a novice fencer.... I can't wait to get there BTW, a curved sword, and I use body hit all the time.... I still attack at like 2.8 with my blade, and I haven't had any problems with it. Just my 2 space-bucks worth

This annoys us because:

1. We are fencers and we are not useless. Saying that is like joining a big, powerful group, not doing any damage, and then saying "We suck!" We take it a little personally, as we are fencers.

2. I am novice Brawler with 1 hand sword specialization 2 (Really weak) human, and my action isn't extremely high. Still, I can use my best special 20-25 times before running out of action, and that heals quickly between battles.

3. Keep searching for weapons, duh! If it lowers you're HAM that bad, use something else. You can find very good Vibroblades with low HAM costs in privates stores much more common than BAZAAR terminals.

4. "GOD I am tired of being killed" Depends what you're fighting. Fighting humanoids gives you loot, more exp, and fencers are much better against them then other professions.When PvP comes around, fencers will be unstoppable.

5. If you wanna use specials, duh, just set them to the F hotkeys, works perfectly for me. No typing /1 handbodyhit instead I just press a button.

6.If the Ham sucks THAT bad for EVERY weapon you find, Stat Migration will help you.

7. Why are you complaing on our boards? Technically, you don't deserve to post here, fencer-hater! BLEH!

8. You really think it's gonna matter if a person deletes their character? The answer is no.

Oh and one last thing.. Boy Howdy?... *snicker*

wow too fast to use specials... maybe i'll become a fencer... being too fast is not a bad thing : /
