do u know what fencing is?
fencers usaly fight using 1 hand and the other in the air for balance. fencing is 1 handed combat so realy little if no use of the second hand. it used as balance so thye can move mroe fenesfully
Actually, fencers (I mean the European ones) did use shields at one point. Im not entirely sure, but I believe it was circa 1600-1700. Small shields though. (bucklers were a relatively common type and were called as such because they were "buckled" to the Fencers arm.) They would occasionally use two weapons. (the rapier/sword in their dominant hand, along with a parrying dagger in the other)
Now, most of my information is derived from history channel and video games, so theres a decent chance that I have no clue what im talking about![]()
Now, enough rambling. I honestly think the original posters idea is OK. However, there are more pressing issues than window dressing. It would however, be nice to have a choice between one handed, (balance.) Shields (defense oriented, less speed or accuracy.) and dual wielding (more damage, less acuracy.).
In general however, getting us more swords to replace our ugly (and somewhat worthless) clubs and batons, takes precidence over these little ideas.
Might be a good thing to add to the long-awaited Combat Revamp.
I can dream cant I?
