Thread: Fencer + TKA or Fencer + Pikeman
Ok I'm wanting to get into fencer and I have a question
Should I do fencer + TKA (insane speed and defensive mods)
or should I do Fencer + Pikeman (really good speed and insane damage)

yeah TKA all the way.........that is if you want to have two melee professions
i think a better combo would be pistoleer
you get really good defenses that stack with fencer (where as the TKA defense acuity or whatever, does not stack)
also you get two more stacking health bleeds and the option to initiate battle froma distanceor even just fight from a distance
both fencers and pistoleers have light armor piercing as well as a wider variety of damage types (energy,heat, acid, kinetic and stun)
this is what i would more highly recommend than any of your choices

So it's looking like TKA + Fencer
Of course the problem it seems is it's alway TKA + (insert random profession here) to make a really good melee combo ![]()
I'm one box from M Fencer and am TKM + M Brawler (whew chars almost finished). All I can say hands down is its an excellent combination especially if your a solo player. TK for all the nice healing plus power boost and FoW (handy in situations where you bite more than you can chew). Yes the defensive mods are insane. My goals of a wookiee melee char that could tank have been met. I cant tell what more effective yet for damage since I dont have hit3 (tonights goal). Sadly, I refuse to ruin this character on a holo hunt so I may shelve it to roll a BH on another server so I can hunt and KILL ALL JEDI.
Although this char is better suited for it imo than any BH.
I also think that MFencer is better suited for direct PCcombat than a TKM. Go ahead and flame away but its just a slightly biased observation.
of the two TKA would my choise, for the meditation mainly. BUT you may consider master fencer/pistoleer 4-0-0-0, with 4 health bleed, bodyshot2 and great dodge you should have a very stong character.
getting pistoleer does not mean being a range player, the only reason i get pistoleer is of the dodge and melee defense skill mod.
This is how my character gonna be. Although it is not finish, I think this is a good combo
Master Fencer (Blademaster all the way!!)
TKA 4-0-0-4 (powerboost, Force of Will and heal own wounds. also all the melee and defense mod)
Pistoleer 4-0-0-4 (insane dodge mod plus melee defense mod)
novice medic (just so i can use some good stim b)
scout 3-0-0-0 (we are melee class and we need to move around the terrain, no question about it)
ps. you will have 4 skill pts left after this, for me, i will put it in range support 1 and survival 1, so i can get an extra bit of +2 melee defense and /forage to feed my mount.
I gave up master brawler to get pistoleer, the reason is master brawler only give me a KD move, +5 sec to CoB duration and +10 effectiveness of CoB. but for Blademaster, i already have a dizzy/lunge1 combo, 31 sec Cob and 115 effectiveness. which i dont' think the pistoleer dodge skill mod can compensate.
Warcry 2 is useful, but dizzy/lunge1 + bodyhit3 x 3-5 is more than enough in PvP

For the most part I want nothing to do with ranged combat. This guy is going to be pure melee so if I stack anything it'll be with another melee profession.
I've got my ideas though. Fencer + TKA and maybe master brawler to go along with it. A KD with a range of 20 meters sounds VERY tempting.
