Thread: OK.. Here's something to ponder....
There are all sorts of skill attachments to resist melee related attacks (vs intimidate vs warcry vs blind etc), but where are the attchments against panic shot/ disarming shot ( does this work against melee weapons - or just ranged?) /stopping shot etc?
Also... does KD defense work against Low Blow?

Defense vs KD will help prevent all attacks that try to knock you down (low blow / pistol melee defense 1 / etc), same applies to the other status effects.
Are you sure ? cause if you think about it they get in to detail about KD defense and posture change defense, intiimdate and others aswell. If you think about it there isnt one thing that says a pertec against a range attack in a perfession atleast i dont think there is one, and also with skill tapes, armor attackments.

This only illustrates even further that melee is neglected with weapons AND attachments.
Do you know what dawned on me as well? Dogg mentioned, in another post, opening with Panic shot which is a (10?) second delay. Now, in addition to there being no resists against it (where there are for intimidate), there is no delay inopening that shot - yet there's a huge one with opening with Warcry.

Btw, don't worry about "disarming shot" - it doesn't work at all. It just does double-damage to static objects like turrets and lairs.
Afaik there is a cap of +25 from skill enhancement clothing / armour.
Personally I swap between two sets of formfitting shirt + ammo bandolier. So I either have +25 warcry / intim or +8/25 melee defence / stun defence.

What about Stopping Shot would you like to resist, exactly? It's just a special with a high damage modifier (x5, if I remember correctly).

you can't open with panicshot - you have to already be in combat to use panicshot

LOL this is funny... Very illustrative of those who use Fencer just for the dodge stack.
Actually - as stated by Dogg, this is what he opens his duels against Commandos with. Now, obviously, the delay with this shot taking effect is not the same as Warcry, cuz there ain't no way in HELL you'd have a chance of opening with Warcry and be successful in getting the effect to stick before your opponent got first shot in.
Even if thiswere notthe case- there should be defense mods against it, just as there are for Intimidate and Warcry.
And BE clothing should include ranged def as well.
This game is horribly biased in favor of ranged - from weapons andweapon mods, to BE clothing and skill/armor attchments. Also, most mods are against status effects - the very bread and butter of a Fencer.

Seena, who will not respond further to any more comments made by people who are obviously only here for the dodge stacks given by Fencer. You, imo, pollute our community.

a) as you can see in my sig, i have 2 characters, and fencer is only one of them
b) my fencer is not pistoleer - so the whole 'stacking dodge' comment is misdirected
c) i really could care less what Dogg says, you cannot initiate combat with panicshot - my other char is a smuggler and has been pvp'ing for quite some time. i'd go so far as to say you cannot open with warcry or intimidate but i haven't tested it as much
there seems to be only one move in the game that doesn't have some sort of defense against - that being panicshot, which is a ranged delay. other than that, all skillmods apply to ranged as well as melee. the reason it seems they are geared more towards melee users is because melee users have more ways to initiate state changes
