I have beenjoining in on test server from time to time and I wanted to warn you so that you could make your voice heard before this change actually goes live. (If it goes live but I believe part of it will sooner rather than latter.)

Currently it appears that they have added an entertainer mission terminal. Actually there are four new terminals one of which is this terminal. From this terminal you can pick a music gig or a dancer gig. Just the same as when you went to a theater and chatted with an NPC. Actually the npcs' give these gigs as well nowNOT the old ones that paid an average of 500 credits. You can take two missions now though, so two music ones, two dance, or one of each as before.

The negative, there is no payout over distance for travel. And the gigs only pay an average of 110 credits. It might also be that they added time to the gigs so it takes about 5+ minutes to finish. It seemed to be about 6 minutes but maybe the server was laggy and it is still 5.

If you have any concerns get on Test Server and /bugto giveyour feedback on these mission changes. I really enjoyed the dancer and music gigs, it has helped my artisan out a bunch so I didn't have to go and do combat missions or take combat skills. That and it was fun to take a decent paying localmission and sometimes meet people and break up my play time.

Where is your character on the Profession tree?

Perhaps it's like the destroy missions...the more advanced you are the more they pay?

Hopefully and maybe true. My character is only a novice as I am testing artisan skills but use entertainer gigs to support her. Though that isn't as necessary now because of the artisan missions butit is worth some dancers and musicians looking into.

If the rank of the character helps then nothing to worry about but as I am testing another skill set someone else should look into this as I am only one person. As soon as I do gain more info and rank I will let you know but that could be to late and the patch may be published by then.

That and then you might want to discuss how this affects low end entertainers and high end entertainers. Who needs the gigs more? The master or the novice? Do master's survive on tips? Should the low end be raised up a bit as the credits are basically not worth it compared to other missions of similar time ratio to complete.

Also the problem of distance not affecting the reward, unlike combat missions gives the impression that it works like the old entertainer missions with a pay cut.

You can read it anyway you want but you should really get on and take a look yourselves so you can discuss it and make your feelings known on what you think of these changes before they are implemented.

All I can say is if the payout at master level isn't at least comparable to gnort lair missions(2k-2.5k a pop), then this is just a waste of development time that would've been better used elsewhere, such as fixing the chat servers or something.

I'm sure they'll balance it based on feedback. Mission payouts have long been a moving target

Personally, I wouldn't mind if Mission Terminals had less payout than NPC Missions. It would just mean I'd seek out NPCs

At 110 Credits, that barely just pays the cost of shuttling to another city. Have you tried pressing Refresh a few times to see if the values fluctuate (I imagine you have )? I won't do a delivery mission on-planet that's less then 500cr. No reason to really, since it's purely a function of distance. I won't even seek out a delivery mission unless I'm going the sort of distance one measures between, say, Moenia and Naboo, Bela Vistal and Kor Vella or Mos Eisley and Mos Espa. To me, as a pure money maker, Destroy Missions are best, but far-flung intra-planet delivery missions are the easiest.

I did an NPC gig mission last night (started in Coronet, had to play on Vreni). I picked up a delivery mission before leaving Coronet. I read here that the duration is a function of the amount of XP you earned, so I flourished for 2/3 of my Action bar. Since I'm so l33t, I tracked the XP gained. At 839 Music XP, I had finished the mission and gotten around 500cr. With a Bandfill (and playing Ballad, though that doesn't matter) and solo (since it's rare to find anyone on Vreni not leaving ), that was 6 minutes of work. I left Vreni 1,100cr richer, and a bit more proficient in Music.

So I'm of two minds. Making Gig Missions from Terminals uber would mean you don't need to do NPC missions. But the NPC missions add something to the story. So likely regardless of the value in the short term, I'll end up picking up an NPC gig mission and then finding a Mission Terminal Gig mission that requires I go to the same city.

yeah, missions should be liveable but not to comfy for payment. I don't want an NPC to compete with Leppy's Lounge for my gig cash.

I think having the terminal missions and NPC's missions profitable would be great. That may mean more tip money for the entertainers that hang out all the time in Cantina's and it would be another way entertainers can make a living.

I just have this intense feeling that if the missions pay out too much then we will never receive tips again. The patrons will say "why aren't you on a gig right now? we don't need to tip you cause you're already getting paid for your time."

I don't know how much is too much. One thing that might be considered too much would be gig missions in the same cantina as the mission terminal. That would be seen as free money for no risk and no time sink.

Also, NPC missions and terminal missions should not, IMO, pay more than players are capable of paying for player gigs. I should never be taking a monetary hit to go play a wedding. Player gigs should be the "end game" of sorts with game-generated pay missions being suplimentary until people are skilled enough to provide music for player gigs.

They need to make entertainers play for 20 minutes to finish a mission and increase the reward by 10 times. Also include some sort ofway to check the progress of the mission.

I like the idea of a progress during a mission. I REALLY wish the NPC patrons in the cantinas would respond through animation though. I've only ever seen one NPC even approach the stand-dancing animation

However, I don't agree they should get a set time limit (it's currently based on XP gained), nor that they should pay out so well in the early levels.

What I DO think is that they should scale with entertainer skill level, just as Delivery missions scale to distance (on planet) and Destroy missions scale to weapon proficiency. It doesn't make sense to me that someone playing Starwars1 on a Slitherhorn should be awarded the same credits/faction for the same XP generated as someone playing Virtuoso on a Nal
