Thread: What about a sound notifying you have been tipped?

I have spent hours in the cantina. Long, grueling hours, on my way to Master Musician. Never used aliases but understand the temptation and willingness to do so. There have been a number of times when I find myself in a conversation (via group chat or tells) I will check my cash account and find it has substancially increased in a short period of time. My experience with tippers is that you have your really good tippers and those who treat you like an NPC. An NPC that they can have an entertaining, intelligent conversation with, say thanks for the heals and leave.

My suggestion to the devs, which I submitted a week ago with no reply, was to incorporate a sound when you are tipped. Kind of like a $CHA-CHING$ sound, so that you can be aware of it more easily while you trade banter with others or checking your Email.

/agree

Brilliant idea. It's a system message, same as the Flourish spam...adding a sound would be great, and solve the problem of missed tips. Least of all, make it a message in some other channel, not the same as the flourishes.

I suggest changing the words "tip" and "bank" to have a bright color. Helps a lot. I agree a sound would be nice, though

Thanks for the affirmation Waho. I thought of this last week when I was answering three different tells at once. I just happened to skim the chat window when I noticed that I have been tipped 1000 credits from one generous patron. If you are like me, many of us who are 1or2 fingered typersspend a lot of time looking at the keyboard during indepth conversations, unconsciously filtering out all other lines of text, looking for your replies and such. I would gladly pay Mavis Beacon 50000 credits if she could train myself in an instant like my avatar.

Anyways I made it a point to /tell the patron that I appreciated his financial kindness, sincethey had already left the cantina. And you know what they said? "Give credits where credits are due" Amen brother, and may the Force be with you.

Just go into options and add a color to the word tip. You can customize any word with just about any color. Makes it very easy.

I would rather have a seperate window that gives name and amount of tips. I could resize the window and place it anywhere.

I would also like a check box next to each name, that way I could check off each name as I thanked them. During a slow period, I could scroll back though the list to see if I missed thanking anyone.

Splendid idea, NomOrion.

That should go on the next list of suggestions we make via our Correspondent, for sure.

I actually highlight the entire sentence if it says "tips you." There is less of a likelihood of the wrong sentence being colored.

Something else I do is to highlight the entire sentence gray if it says, "Dancing Experience" and "Entertainment Healing Experience." They lines still show up, but they're practically invisible. I can ignore them while focusing on the conversations and emotes in the cantina, which allows me to respond and earn more tips.

And there should be a death penalty for anyone who shouts spam five lines long by the cantina.

Love Star Wars, but the few role-players I could find on the servers were outnumbered by powergamers who wanted only l337 l00t and mad skillz. I can't justify paying $15 a month to play a game by myself.
Still cares enough to interject an opinion, though.

I think it's an excellent idea to add something to notify our tips. It's not easy to get tipped, and when we are we can sometimes not even notice it, therefore we cant thank the tipper, thus lowering the average probability to get a tip next time.

Let us know we are tipped to let us thank people who tip.

The highlighted text does help a lot, but a little dingy sound would be great. There are times when text spews through the chat window so quickly, I have go scroll back just to see if I missed anything, even if I was standing right there.
