Thread: idea on tipping groups in busy cantinas....
Not a bad idea. The only problem is that the band leader has to spend too much time calculating who gets what share of tips based on when they joined and when they left the group.
Personally, I'd like to see the /tip group command. That way, the audience can choose who they want to tip, be it everyone or only one person. They should have that right.
Call me selfish, but I just don't like the idea of the band leader to decided that all tips that come to any member of the group to be automatically split amongst everyone. I think the inclusion and exclusion commands are fine for tips give to the group, but not to the individual.
Part of the problem is that when there is a group, if you don't join it, you lose out on major xp bonuses, especially if the group is large. If you are the only one in the group that is putting up a good show, then the group leader could exclude you, or others you want to get a piece of the pie, without your even knowing it.
The solution of course, is for there tobe a message anytime anyone gets tipped in a group, and what your share of the tip is, and what percentage that is. I guess that would keep the leaders honest.

If there were to be a tip split option it should be implemented on the tipee side not on the group side.
I agree 100%.
If someone wants to tip that cute little scantily-clad Twi'lek dancer, not the whole band, he should be able to. Maybe he can finagle an in-character "date" out of her that way. :-)
(NOTE: I mean this in a roleplay sense, not in the sense of a RL date.)

This is a nice idea. Personally, as a band leader, I'd want the following commands (sorry to some who've heard this alot
):
- /TipInclude <name>
- /TipExcluse <name>
- /GroupTipSplit <on/off>
Then everyone in the Include list gets a split. New people are automatically included in Include, and they automatically default to the splitting tips they receive.
