I've found that with some of the dances, adding an equipped weapon can make a more interesting show. I watched a melee who had come in start dancing with his massive axe still equipped. It was actually an impressive display watching as he swung the axe around. I used to dance with my Carbine out, but I got disappointed that there's no way to fire it off while dancing.
Survival Knives are cheap and also make for an interesting addition to a show.

Actually I find poplock can look really cool with a Fizzz in hand. It looks like a baton being twirled with some of the flourishes. Not quite a weapon dance though.

I watched someone doing /dance last night - which I understand is our Lyrical dance. It does look very nice while it's being twirled around. I'm wondering what weapons I can equip without spending the points to get Novice Brawler now. Anyone?

You shouldn't need novice brawler to equip a staff... at most it will say you aren't strong enough blah blah blah weapon power reduced blah blah blah...

In beta I did a sword dance routine. I figured out the moves for each dance that looked good with a sword in hand and then made a bunch of macros. I forget now what they were but I think rhythmic was my basic dance so I'd do rhythmic and then a macro for attack would be:
/changedance rock
/flourish 3
/pause 15
/changedance rhythmic
That way I could use a flourish from another dance for a particular move and then go back to rhythmic. The pause lets the move finish, so you have to fine tune the time for each move.
It looked really good I thought. I wanted to get my friends to set up that way too so we could do a coordinated dance, but beta came to a swift end before we could.

One of my regulars suggested we try to get a hybrid Profession for Entertainer and Brawler - something like a Sword Dancer - into the next expansion. Fancier fighting moves and possibly an actual Sword Dance for entertaining. I think it's a good idea, cause right now we don't have any hybrid professions at all.
