Hi Guys,

I started a new character on Valcyn with a goal of becoming Master Entertainer so that I can play the Mandioval. I'm wondering how I will EVER get the Image Designer experience necessary. Does anyone have any tips for me on how they did it, or how I can make it go quicker? Right now, when I group, I always offer to change hair color, etc. Most people say no. Almost all of the 500 points or so I have now has came from practicing on my own character. At this rate, I despair of ever reaching Master Entertainer.

The trick is you don't actually have to change it to something different. Also find an entertainer to practice on. That way if you mess it up they can always change it back.

Just ask one of the dancers in your group if you can practice on them. You can practice without actually changing a thing.

Target your victim, select Image Design (or type /Image) choose a feature then without choosing a new design hit commit. The victim will recieve the view before after accept deny pop up they just need to hit accept nothing will be changed but you will recieve the proper experience for doing that image.

When doing this make sure that the person you are practicing on still has a basic design and has not previously been imaged by a higher skilled designer. I almost changed a friends hair from a professional hair designers back to a basic because I didn't have the skill to give her the hair design she currently had so in my imaging box her current style changed rather than remaining the same. As long as the victim has a basic image feature that your level of ID can create practicing will not change anything if you don't select a new style.

Many other entertainers have worked with ID so they will understand what you are doing. If they are not familar with it just tell them you won't change anything you are just practicing.

Different features give different levels of experience so play around with your options to find the one that is giving you the most experience.

Quick question!

I'm a Mon Cal Doc who picked up Entertainer to perk up those quiet evenings on Talus and I was wondering how I could get Image Designer XP. I thought it'd be interesting but when I click on my friends I never get the "Image" thing on the click menus. Do you have to group with them? Can a novice not work on Zabracks, Mon Cals, and others without hair?

Don't ask people if you can fix their hair like it's you doing them a favor. This is why they refuse. TELL them you need XP and you will image design on them but you won't change anything, and all they have to do is accept it every time. You get the XP even if you make no changes as long as they accept. Make them understand that this is the silliest grind in the game and perhaps they will pity you, or maybe they enjoy clicking accept in a little window every 20 seconds....

How do you target yourself to ID?

Ctrl-1 will always target yourself.

So, I got some band members to let me practice on them.

Tip: At novice entertainer with no experience, practice on a human. You get more exp for changing eyeshadow and lip color than hair. You will only be able to practice on hair on a rhodian and if you practice hair on a non-human such as rhodian or zabrak you won't be able to change the style without setting the color as well. And, you won't be able to fix the color because you aren't skilled enough yet.
