Thread: Idea for making ME better
Ok, been kicking around an idea that affects the ME on the musician board, but since this is the entertainer board, I'd like your input also.
/bandflourish - Nice idea, no real use. Why?? Because it does not allow band member to gain xp. Now I'm wanting to change this, mostly because a band that is in synch just plain looks better and usually sounds better too. So where am I going with this. Well, I've always considered the ME to be the expert on the entertainment, much like a conductor leads an orchestra, an ME should lead a band. I'd like to see /bandflourish redesigned as a ME ability(and only an ME ability)that allows them to synch the entire band through a performance. I'd also like to see the devs(in conjunction) change the /bandflourish so that all band members get regular xp from executing a band flourish set by another player. I think this could give a ME a very unique trait that would make him well sought after by bands, especially professional bands.
So, ideas, comments, complaints, ridicule??
And since I'm sure someone will say I have an alterior motive, here is the original discussion thread from the Musician forum.

As I learned (here, in fact
), bandflourish DID give XP to all in the band back in beta. But people would use it too readily to AFK macro entire bands.
Personally, I think that's hogwash anyway. In no way did removing bandflourish XP impact AFK macroers in my opinion. The continued presence of easy commands to loop a macro are just too widely known now. Until they remove the toolbarSlot action command, whether bandflourish giving XP is just academic.
Right now, people really into the music system "manually bandflourish". Kyorlana wrote about one way to do it a few weeks ago in the Dancer forum:

My way is similar, except that instead of people watching one player, the band leader begins the sequence with a /bandflourish command. Yes, that's one flourish more of XP to that player, but who cares?
Personally, the hardest part is to get random pickup bands to want to do it
Places like Theed and Coronet generally have really big bands, but half the time almost half the people are AFKing ![]()
For dedicated bands, like folks who do gigs for players and have a name and such, they're not as concerned about XP as they are at sounding good. So they'll manually flourish.
