Ok I searched the forums to see if there is a reference to what happened to me today and could find one so I'm just gonna ask...

I'm new to playing a musician since I've been a Medic/CH since release and I've spent the last 2 days in the cantina hitting the flourish hotkeys to get xp.... then today I'm in this band of about 10 people with some dancers around too and I'm at Musicianship III getting about 30-35 xp each flourish I do (actually I hit 3 flourishes each time and I think it does them all in a row) then all of a sudden the band switches songs. I keep plying without missing a beat... well at least the animation of me playing keeps going but I can't hear myself any more. I was told the song we switched to was rock but it sounded more like an MP3 of a song with lots of depth and different instruments not just the normal, da da da dadadada, its like a real song you would hear off a CD. And when this happened I started getting 90xp each flourish then 100xp each flourish then up to 130xp and I was told it was because a virtuoso joined in for a few seconds. Then the virtuoso switched to dancing and the songkept sounding like a real song.

So this was all well and good, if there a way to group up and make more xp.. why not... But then someone asked to be trained in Musician II so I decided to /stopsong and teach them... then I /startsong "You join in with the song the band is playing" and boom back to 30xp each flourish.... *sigh* there goes that bug or what ever it was

I asked the band to try switching songs again and see if it happened again, but it didn't

Is this common? is it a bug? canI make it happen again?

Yep, this is the currently most hated bug for musicians. It seems like an endless trap unless you log for several hours.

But to remedy it, when you get bug'd, have the band leader type /stop

Once they all stop, have the bug'd person type /startmusic

The band starts playing the song you're bug'd on...joining you..so to speak.

Often this fixes it, but if not, just type /stopmusic and you should stop and no longer be bug'd.

It seems to happen most when you use the change band command, or if you try to join the band but 'lack the skill to perform' the song they are playing.

I have also sent this detailed /bug report in-game. Let's hope they fix it ASAP
