Thread: What we need is dancing droids!
why do entertainers always complain about the high price of training anyways? you stand next to other entertainers all freakin day long.
wait a sec... entertainers don't CHARGE for training other entertainers, do they? 
Well there would probably always be a droid cantina if they did but I doubt all the entertainers would let most of them get that way. Maybe if droid entertianers could only heal half as fast as a normal entertainer or 1/4th as fast or even if they didn't do any healing at all and were just like a novalty item. A couple of dancers could still get together without musicians and have music in the background even if it didn't help with healing and vice versa with a couple musicians and a dancing droid.

I would love to be able to have a little droid friend or pet with me. But it seems we can have low lvl pets with us now after the patch. Or.. Did I just read that all wrong? I would love one of them little cat babies with me! Soo cute!
I live fine off my tip, but I seldom have any credits anyway, for the more I get the more dresses I have to get

Shutup you! We don't live off tips, we do missions like the rest of you! If we lived off tips, we wouldn't even be able to afford our instruments, shuttle or starport tickets, designer clothes, or training! So bug off!
Anyway, this would be pretty cool for Entertainers and DE's alike. But what would stop a cantina from being completely robotic?...
Question why does every thread need to desolve into a whine about tips and money?It's just rude to constantly derail posts in that manner.
As to the idea if they droids could produce a non beeping sound of music my dancer would like one for a background band not sure what the intended purpose would be other than that however. Are you suggesting that droids owned by non performers but trained by performers would take the healing place of entertainers? If so I would have to vote no. If it's more of a fun thing like mouse droids or visual/sound effects to enhance entertainers then idea might have merit.

Starscearm you wrote this nonsense now the second time , so I guess you beleave what you say.
To clear you up a bit, only in teh lower level you will find someone easy to train you, when the training costs are low also.
After hitting my 2. box in the dancingtree als Novicedancer, I had to pay all my trainingcosts by myself exept two times, whereI payed too some cr to the other dancer I had the luck to find.
Last weekend I danced as only dancer on Lok, to heal the poor adventurers, not to sit there for half an hour visiting a noviceentertainer. After gaining to BFhealing4 I had to travel to Entha (1750cr) paying training (9000cr) travel back (1750cr), to hear now some jerks like you, we need no money for training.
By this, I can live very well with tips and buy even my shoes, if I can find a tailor who crafts shoes and not only fieldwear or high level things(thanks all the few generous patrons).

No of course not takeing the place of entertainers, but just to do things to enhance entertainers. I didn't think of visual effects though, that would be cool. Maybe like have an Droid Engineer install a Lighting module ina mouse droid and it could run through a few sequences.

To summarize: Entertainers who DO NOT make good tips are not entertaining. They are Mind Medics who cannot charge for their services.
Entertainers who DO make good tips, spend their tips on clothes.
Suggestion: I trade entertaining for almost everything I need. In particular, I trade to Fashion Designers, then I tell my customers that the outfit I am wearing tonight was made by Whoever. Think of it as being a high fashion model!
BTW, I almost never run missions or kill creatures. I dance and entertain. I own a house, lots of cute outfits, play in a different club every night, have a following of fighters and friends who ask me where I am dancing and come there to watch the show. Currently I get 5-7k tips per night for about 3 hours "work." Weekends, more like 10-15k.
If you are playing Entertainer and not enjoying it and all you can complain about is lack of tips, maybe you should ask yourself: If you were a fighter, would you tip you?
Having a dancing droid is not gonna improve your career. Being an entertainer will improve your career!

No, random luck (generous patron walks in), flashy clothes, and friends who are nice enough to drop cash on you will improve your career. Your level of skill has nothing to do with it, since your pay is based entirely on the generosity of the person paying you, not their skill.
