Thread: Entertainers should heal in scout camps and......
-Be able to taunt/confuse in battle.
-Maybe a new taunt/confuse line should be added in the entertainer tree. Why should they be restricted to the cantina?
-Or perhaps the ability to launch fireworks in an orchestrated FAST PACEway.
Hey when you look at it, every class in the game is broken. ![]()
Former Droid Engineer
Former Bounty Hunter
Former Ranger Thats me.
More power to Laytan.
I agree with her sentiment. Also, please note -- there are no 'classes' in a skill-based game. You need to get out of the class mindset where everyone is supposed to fill an exact, particular function and nothing else.
I'm also aware of a lot of people whining about various professions but so far only truly believe the Commando to be downright broken.
Well I'd say commando and bio engineer are the most broken, but that's for another post. ![]()
Entertainers are fine the way they are, many of entertainer friends take up a combat or craft in addition to their entertaining profession, between the two they're more than enough amused. ![]()
The fireworks thing is now actually being put in with a fireworks show craftable item, where you can setup fireworks events, though even the in-game message says its not implemented yet.
Entertainers taunting ini battle is well.. sorry that's just not a well thought out idea. You want the 300 HP member of your group drawing aggro? I don't think so. Sure you could add 1 ability to entertainers like confuse/distract or something, but I think any entertainer going out with a party would rather jump into the battle themselves than stand around dancing/playing music fora single sub-par ability.
I agree with Nishu.
Just because you are an entertainer doesn't restrict you from other combat abilities. It's a profession based system, not class. You can mix and match. You can have an entertainer with marksman skills, and fight with everyone else. No one is stopping you. Sure, you can't be a elite musician and commando and droid engineer at the same time, but we're trying to stay away from super characters and go for a more balanced player run world. The purpose of the entertainer profession is to heal, just like the medic, but maybe a little more social. We entertain, not provoke. Besides, charming or drawing aggro a creature is more of a bard ideal, as was stated before. Magic. We all know magic isn't incorperated into any profession (Force isn't magic =P), because magic doesn't exist in SWG.
Get some marksman xp if ya wanna confuse 'em. I do believe there is an action that kicks up dirt or something to that effect.
I think that what should be added to entertainers, if anything, is buffs. They wouldn't be MAGICAL buffs, but psychological buffs. After all, Entertainers heal minds, don't they? And battle fatigue?
If you take this concept a step further, entertainers should be able to play or dance for the troops before a battle and give them buffs rather like food or spice do. How cool would it be to be able to "Battle Harden" your party and buff up their mind pools before they trudge into the next skirmish? That would make entertainers really valuable (beyond their present value) to an adventuring party. Medics, TKA's,and Riflemen especially would benefit from that kind of thing.
Somebody bump this and put it in the next report, wouldja? ![]()
