Thread: Fully understanding the mind buffs...
I want to write-up a post for my server's forum about themind buffs entertainers give.
However every time I start, I find myself with a few questions still.
These are things I know:
- The percentage of the stat buff is the mind enhancement skill / 2. So a mind enhancement skill of 100 (Master) would give a 50% buff.
- The buff is biggest and lasts longest after 15 minutes of watching. The length is 30 minutes.
- Dancers buff the mind pool, musicians the secondary stats.
Some things I think I've heard but not sure about...
- You get the buff from the person you actually /watch or /listen, not from the highest skilled entertainer in the group.
- The buffs stack, so if you stop watching/listening, then start for another 15 minutes, you get an additional buff.
- ... Is it an additional buff based off the base stat or the buffed stat?
And inferred from the above:
- You have to both /watch and /listen to get the most effect.
- ... But can you do both at once?
Anyone want to fill in the blanks with known facts? Once I get everything together I'll write up a little information that I'll be posting to my server's board and cross-posting it here in case others want to try and educate their own servers.

Agreed. I have Dancing Techniques IV, which gives me +75. I have verified that I have given a 37% boost.

Agreed. I also affect the Mind. I have listened to a Musician and received buffs in the secondary skills. I have watched a Dancer and received a buff in the Mind pool.
- You have to both /watch and /listen to get the most effect.

Yes, you can do both. During a slow period where there were nothing but entertainers, I decided to sit down and watch the Master Dancer and listen to the Master Musician. I received a 50% boost in all three attributes. Pity I didn't do anything that required mental expenditure.
Something to add to this: Must you /stopwatch and /stoplisten to gain the benefits? Will the buffs occur as soon as you leave the range of watching/listening?
ahh, good to get some clarification on some of this. i've been mistakenly telling patrons that only masters grant buffs, and only if they manually /stop watching or listening.
i've got another question though. i know this works in cantinas, and houses. does it also work in camps, or out in the field without a camp?
