I haven't had a chance to try out this feature. So I don't know about messages and what not. I was going to speak out about not having a message, but I guess there is one.

There are some possibilities of legitimate problems:

The musician did rest, but the animation still continued.
It's a bug.

While I don't mind giving us options like /deny that I likely won't use, I was opposed to this because it brings in a possibility of new bugs. In my eyes, /deny is a zero-sum feature. It won't help or hurt the dancers. I don't mind ineffective commands, but they need to be well-tested.

If there's supposed to be a message, and you didn't see the message, then I'm guessing the musician did not /deny you.

Furthermore, what good does it do for him to /deny you if he's not going to say, "Hey buddy, give me 1000 credits, and I'll heal you"? To soundlessly deny a patron would be pretty stupid. Not to say that a musician cannot be stupid, but still....

I just hope that you came across a fluke.

But your idea is solid. NEVER tip AFK people. And never tip /deniers unless you're desperate.

And honestly, why would anyone try to extort for tips when there is an AFK entertainer nearby? That would have to be a very stupid musician.

Well my home town is Mos Espa.. where i almost alway go toget my healing done if at all possible. So I logeged on this mornig all excited about tracking and the new toys i would have for ranger and i realized i had some mind wounds and about 150 bf... so what the heck ill read up on my new skill while being healed.

Went into my fac cantina ... there were 4 entertainers.. 3 were grouped one was solo... and what do yah know all afk which is actually odd for there. After a few attempts at getting a response from anyone i decided illjust listen to thenon macroed music and heal up a bit. then i noticed about half way done... it stopped. No more healing all of the sudden. It appears it just takes one in the group to deny and its over. I politly asked why i was denied... no response just denied. so i switched to the other afk musician and finished my healing and went on my way (i still refuse to tip afk entertainers).

I would like to say thank you for ruining the cantina experience. It is now going to be more than ever dominated by afk entertainers which is not the point at all for this profession. And to those who do afk i refuse to tip because your not playing the game... and to those who try and deny for tips... kiss em good by you will forever be bannned in my book. The idea is for those being rude to get service denied... not to hold healing as ransom if tips must stay then earn them... by enteracting with ppl playing fourishes and having fun. But those who do that know that (i dont wann knock all of the entertainers cause its my fav class to play and to those who play the entertainers the way they were ment to thank you)

summary... deny service bad... very bad

I'm confused.

If they were AFK, how did they manage to deny you service? They have to target you and type the command. Also, I have read that you get a message that you have been denied. Did you see that message?

Is it possible that the musician you were listening to simply stopped playing to rest? People have to throw regular rests into their macros.

Bottom line, either way, you may have run into some bad entertainers. They were out there before, they're out there now, doesn't mean we're all like that. We have the same problem, there are bad patrons and good patrons. We won't stop entertaining and I hope you don't stop helping those entertainers worthy of your consideration.

I dont understand your problem, you dont tip afk's (quite agree) and you cant be denied by them - sounds like youve found your healing motherlode

Not being funny or anything but 3 AFK's and a solo guy hardly sounds like a 'cantina experience' come back and tell us how you get on when you hit a populated Cantina in full swing

I think the original poster wants to support entertainers by tipping them. But he does not believe in tipping AFKers.

And if the one solo /denied him (which I'm not sure is the case), then that prevents him from tipping an entertainer.

So, financially, he made out like a bandit, but I think he wanted to show his support to some entertainer.

Actually, this sounds exactly like the current Cantina scene, at least the ones I've been to recently. More AFK than not, no group dynamic like there used to be. We used to have great big bands before, many musicians and dancers working together, chatting amongst each other and with the clientele, but now silence is the norm. Sad.

People want so much to be offended that they will believe anything.

If you were really denied, you would have gotten a message telling you that you were and who did it.

It depends, in some places yeah. In the Cantina new my PA hall, we always have a good time, and we are almost all there, we rarely get an AFK and when we do we usually make fun of them behind the back and remember the names. They usually pay for trains.

One thing that gets me is the guys who come is in and don't say hi back walk in heal and walk out in slence. The AFK customer is often the no tipper. I never /deny then unless they get rude, but then they wouldn't be an AFK customer...
