Thread: Pets in the cantina

I spent most of this afternoon in a chaotic environment. The ground thundered, my vision waslimited and profanities and emotes were being slung left and right. No, I wasn't battling the enemy, I was dancing at Anchorhead Tavern.A creature handler decided it would be funny if he let his two Malklocs patrol the tiny tavern. Apparently this is not an uncommon occurance, this player does it on a regular basis. And, despite the numerous harrassment reports, nothing has been done. Although, I was new to the area, this is not the first time something like this has happened while I was dancing. I have even seen someone leave his Binary Loadlifter to patrol through the dancers and band while he was off hunting.

If nothing can be done to stop these people then something needs to be changed, like making cantinas a no-pet zone. I love having my tiny bunny out with me when I dance, but there is no reason to have a pet in the cantina. If someone needs a droid tocraft, they can step outside to dotheir crafting. I'd happily give up having my bunny dance with me if it can stop the immature kids who get enjoyment out of letting their AT-ST or Torton walk all over the band.

I hate when people do this but I just roleplay it. If they wipout their big giant monster, my dancer yells "EEEK!", stops dancing, and runs away. If they don't put it away, she walks out of the cantina.

Most of the time the other characters in the cantina, who are friends with her, lay into the CH until he puts his stupid pet away.

I don't mind small pets being out. Sometimes I would have my bearded jax out, and if someone was being rude, I would say "Morris kill" and the guy would fall for it and run. Actually it seems like most of the dancers in the cantina I dance in have their small pets out standing guard.

It's the big laggy pets that bug me.

The little ones don't bother me either, really... but the big giant ones so huge they don't even fit in the cantina really irritate me. The devs should put a "size" varable on each creature, and if size > 4 (or whatever) give an error message when you try to bring the creature out in a cantina.

Better yet just make them no-pet zones period.

When this happens, I say : 'Please Pokemon boys, go play outside and leave the adults together'. They don't like being called 'Pokemon boys' so usually they put the pet back in their pocket...

It should be nice to add an /eject feature for ejecting pet out from a cantina...

Just make the pets clip into walls and ceilings so they can't be where theydon't fit.

If the pet's head goes thru the ceiling, it shouldn't be allowed in the building. But there is a civil war going on, so overt's do "need" their minions. So just limit the size like others have said.

I havestated this problem on the Valcyn forum, but would like to add my 2 cents here. I like to think thatpets under 3 feet tall are tolerable in the cantina. Anything larger than that should be left outside or placed in your pocket. If the devs ever get around to it, id like to see the droid detectors start working and keep all pets and droids from walking through the door. I know some entertainers like to have thier pets out as part of thier show. Solution to this would be to add a back door (most cantinas already have them) that is only accessible by entertainers, and this door alows pets in.

It should be made so that no pets that are bigger than a bread box can be pulled out of a pack while inside a public building. For crying out loud I have a little pet that looks like a kittenthatI can't pull out ofmy pocket while I'minside a small house that I own but haven't declared. But I can pull a pet the size of Texas out of my hat while I'm standing inside a crowded cantina?

Here's an idea, if anyone pulls out a pet that goes through the ceiling... make the pet implode and die from beaming inside a wall. Hehe. That would solve the problem of CH'ers and AT-ST'ers using their huge pets.

What they really need to do is disable fighting inside the cantina. Its rediculous, people having a war in the building. As for giant pets.. rediculous. though droids are good. They should allow medical droids to work in the cantina as well.

What they should do is allow us dancers to inflict heavy damage on the larger pets... If we do it once, then thats a warning. If we do it twice, theyshould lose the pet.
