Thread: Entertainers take a stand!
Don't let the Devs bend us over by letting other classes heal mind wounds!
How empty are the cantinas now? How much worse can it get?
If they allow doctors or medics to heal mind, even at the cost of their own, we're done for.
Case in point, I need 320,000 (yes, that much) Musician Healing XP to gain master. The odds of that happening if other classes can suddenly do what entertainers were designed for...are quite slim.
Stop the madness, please.
they are in no way giving mind wound healing to medics... they are discussing who should get the ability to heal mind DAMAGE. not wounds... those are still our calling in the game... as it is now NOBODY can heal mind damage...
it will end up going to entertainers or squad leaders... either one is a seeable profession(i would like to see it go to entertainers... but it WOULD look akward to see an entertainer in a battle)
I for one am hoping the devs give both Squad Leaders and Entertainers the ability to heal mind damage (as opposed to mind wounds). Perhaps Squad Leaders could get the insta-heals, while Entertainers confer a heal-over-time conceputalized asthe "lingering morale boost" from performing in camp between battles. I don't think mind healing should repose in Medics; they've got enough to do as it is, and the game needs more diversity of roles in battle, not less.
I'd also like to see the devs greatly improve our mind buff. It should last for an hour or two at Master level, and it shouldn't take more than a couple minutes to confer. Right now, if a Master performs for 15 minutes, he or she confers a half-hour mind buff (well, Dancers buff Mind, Musicians buff Focus/Willpower). That ratio is way too inefficient.
Yes, how long do those huge doctor buffs last? It's a very long time, isn't it?
Perhaps if there was a craftable item, like people have been saying some kind of CD (or SW tech's equivalent) that was one time use, which granted a mind buff (instead of remote healing)?
Hm...on second thought, it's cool that you can do it while playing.
What if the lighting effects did some kind of buff, and just gave a bigger hit to the action for the entertainer?
That's seems like a pretty good solution to me. Some entertainers I know would like to get into the field and this would allow that, while keeping battle fatigue the reason people HAVE to go back to the cantina eventually.
