We've been validated. Heh. Check JustG's State of the Game.
Three words to all you who said it was ok: Told you so.

The context of the statement was specifically about hologrinders. However, the wording did not name hologrinders specifically, but AFK macroers.
Before I say anything more I should point out these are my thoughts as an entertainer, not as a correspondent.
The intent behind that statement seems to rely on the belief that removing hologrinders will take care of the AFK macroers. I've been an entertainer long enough to know that is not the place, but it is easy to see how someone just now looking at the issue might feel that the hologrinders are the sole source of macroers.
In that view, as far as an entertainer is concerned, hologrinders and AFK macroers are synonymous. Of course this is obviously not the case for a number of reasons. Not all hologrinders are AFK macroers. Some are quite pleasant people who never would have tried the profession but are enjoying it. Similarly, not all AFK macroers are hologrinders. Theres also buff-bots, mules, and people who feel they should be able to advance while not playing.
Now, putting my hat back on, I don't see any large changes even being considered until after publish 10. Removing the worst source of macroers is a convenient flag to wave whenever the topic comes up. So don't read too far into that statement just yet.

I must bring everyone's attention to it, whenever I see it brought up.
Open the In-Game Help file (Holocron), look under Frequently asked questions, then under gameplay.
Question #2 Is AFK-Macro'ing Okay?
The Answer: Yes, It Is.

Nobody has said otherwise, Max. All the information in the holocron says is that there is no policy against doing it. Nothing more, nothing less. It says nothing about what it may or may not do to the game, what may or may not change in the future, or anything else. Remember, nothing in an online game is set in stone. Change is a core part of the genre.

Is is ok? Yes, they say.
But JustG is a dev, and he says the team does not feel it is healthy to the game.
And when something isn't healthy...you do something to fix it. It won't be instant, obviously. But you work to change it.

Sorry then guys. Must have misinterpreted that. I thought he was telling people that since the Devs have NOW changed their minds on AFK-Macro's that somehow suddenly he's been right for months, when up until now, I've seen no indication that the Dev's had any problems with it.
Someone certainly put that line in the Holocron after it became an issue (the issue being people, all over the forums telling others that it was a bannable exploit).
You have my apologies.
