Thread: The problem with Entertainers..

As a short introduction, I was a Master Entertainer with some boxes into Dancer and Musician in the early days and I'm now back to Entertainer.

Considering the actual situation in the cantinas (especially Coronet) I'm really thinking about becoming just a street musician.

The 2 problems I see are:

1. Holo-grinding

2. Creativity


The first point will be gone soon, but the second point will still be there. I never found it entertaining to watch some half naked *insert race* or listening to a band just playing flourish after flourish after flourish. Boring.

The idea is to not simply do what the skill boxes give us, but use it as subtle topping of the cake.

Think about TV shows. Let's take a small band, 3 dancers and one Commedian/Talk Master.
The Talk Master takes some interesting topics from the boards (use the server boards and stay IC. Discussions, rants, flames, etc. about patches and whatever else belong to the boards and not into an in-game show event), invites talk guest that have something to do with the topics and makes a weekly Talk Show like Jay Lenno. The band can throw in short fill-ins and between talk guests the band can play a song (with the flourishes good arranged) while the dancer give a performance.
On the other days go the commedian route with making (non-insulting) jokes about some of the guests or the GCW or whatever fits. The band and the dancers would have the same part here (minus the talk guests of course ).


Now I would love to do things like that myself, but since english isn't my native language and I'm a sloooow typer I'll have to pass until someone else picks up the idea and I can join the band. Street musician isn't that bad I guess *sigh*

its to bad that players like you that want to be creative are only like 1:100. No one wants creativity they want uber. They want to be master this or master thhatso they can lounge aroundin acceptance with other unimaginative masters, spam cyber cliche`s to each other, rant about the lack of content etc. creativity interupts their grind to their end- uberness/acceptance from other ubers.your idea is great unfortunately take forever to find people with thatstyle, at least on my server.


I had this idea a while back to have a band with the lead an overt trando with a mowhawk. And the rest of the band is covert. All somewhat capable of putting up a good fight. I guess it wouldn't be the best band tho. But see how long they can jam for before they have to pull out their guns and lay down their horns or w/e.


a REAL ent is really cool to come across after hours of soloing some remote area.

Don't worry about the others... actually, be THANKFUL for them! It leaves the players cities to true entertainers where life is good! Drop a cantina - build a reputation and clientel - and fame will come!

I tried the comedy thing at my cantina over the weekend. The audience got involved. It was great. We had a band that played. People without the dance skills just did /dance. Oh, we also had a fireworks intermission, where everyone bought fireworks from my vendor and we went outside and lit them off together.


It all comes with finding a group of people that want the same thing you do...placing or managing an existing cantina, and promoting your events. I also play music while waiting at the starports/shuttleports...when people make comments about how nice it is to have an ATK Entertainer around, I email them the waypoint to my cantina.


Too bad you are not on the Intrepid Server, we could have some fun.

While you mention it, isn't it needed to be Master Chef to place a Cantina?

Master Chefs, Master Dancers, and Master Musicians can all place cantinas.


I think "street performers" are fun though and you almost never see them.
