Thread: Dancers and Musicians sharing particle effects

Hi all, I'm just posting to get your input in possibly letting dancers and musicians who have gained skill in both classes use all of the particle show effects at their disposal regardless if they are dancing/playing. In other words someone who is a master dancer and master musician could do the smoke bomb effect while playing a nalargon and could do the fire effect while dancing exotic. I don't think it'd be all that hard to change in the code since currently we share the spotlight, dazzle, and colored lights effects. Would allow those who devote alot of time to entertaining to possibly put on a better show. And maybe add a new particle effect in at Master entertainer to give them more 'abilities'? What do you all think?

Ooooh, firejet could have a whole new meaning with poplock2.

I'm for this, but then again I'm for anything that rewards the full time entertainers.

Something like this would be nice... adding performance options for those who had gained both trees' effects. Better variety to choose from when planning a show, and still only drawing from those skills that one had earned. I like it

i was actually wondering why we couldnt do this already. i've been wanting to use a smokebomb while playing music, or use the ventrliquism (sp) effect while dancing, and the firejet effect while dancing. it would be quite neat.

Maybe these are the types of things we could use in combat. The smoke bomb could easily be used to blind an opponent. The fire jet could be used to intimidate. Of course, they would have to be available when you are not dancing or playing.

i figure it would be realy nice to do that, i've often wondered why it's not already like that. but as a master entertainer/dancer/musician i would really like to see this put into effect

At the very least, I'd like to see our effects have some gameplay effect other than eye candy. I did once chat with one of the devs about making the particle effects a factor in our buff. It doesn't look like anything has come of it, though.
