So, I logged into the test center with a new character. Started on Corornet.

And what I saw was one of the ugliest things I have ever seen. Four or five people had their droids out and the droids were all shooting off the new light shows and speciel effects. The effects themselves are cool, but four or five of them going off with doves and dancing jawas and foam...it was like three of the worse raves I have been to....all at once!

And it concerned me a bit that they were doing this outside the cantina. I mean...while I would love to give entertainers more mobility, seeing all those effects going off everywhere would just get really old really quick. On Starsider, at least, I already get horrible frame rates in Coronet because of all the people. I can just imagine what it would be like if you add in the special effects.

i wasn't there, but i can see how a bunch of those droids used altogether over a long period of time might be annoying. same with the spamming already occuring on live in front of starports and inside cantinas, all we can hope for is responsible use of those items (which isn't gonna happen but we can always hope)

Is anyone able to use the modules, or only entertainers? I could see rampant abuseby non-ents, but at the same time, it is nice to see them be able to participate...

Only entertainers should be able to use the droids. I can't use certain weapons because I dont have those skills. I can't survey, mask scent, tame animals, etc - because I gave up those skill points. Please protect the entertainer profession.

And please create incentives that would invigorate the cantinas. For me, I'm fine in my own cantina on Lok. We've build agood reputation and have visitors (entertainers and others) who come regularly. Many nights is a party atmosphere. However, I would still like the entertainers given reasons to play inside - or at camps. Creating a new 'spam' in starports is not a good thing, in my mind.

While I was playing my chidinkalu horn yesterday, some afk guy targetted me with the special effect "ventriloquism". You have no idea how annoying that got every 5 seconds for an hour.
