Thread: Healing Exp Broken?
- As a novice ent I would get exp amounting anywhere from 1-120 healing exp at a time. Ok thats fine.
- As a 4/4/4/2 musician I get exp amounting anywhere from 1-130 healing exp at a time. And About half the time I get 1-5 exp. Others notice this as well.
- Also I pay a CM to mind disease me and then he mind diseases some of the group members, then we all watch/listen to each other. Sometimes we dont get any exp and most of the time its very little.
I know healing exp is supposed to be the combat exp of the ent professions but from what Im hearing and observing there seems to be something wrong. Maybe im just an ent noob and am doing something wrong, I dont know.
Has anyone else noticed this or can help in anyway?

You get the XP based on how many wounds/BF the listener has and how many are listening...
So the 1-5 times the person probably just had like 20 mind wounds and it was just that one person.
Best explanation I can come up with, considering I haven't had any issues with Ent Healing XP.
It's been a long time since I hit the XP cap, so I haven't earned Ent Heal XP in ages, which means you should take what I say with a grain of salt. But as I recall, Ent Healing XP was quite volatile. One tic it would be 100; the next, 5. That's not unusual as people /listen and /stoplisten, and as their fatigue or wounds disappear. At least, I don't think it's unusual. As I recall, the swings were even wilder for dancers, for reasons I don't fathom.
Nonetheless, if this continues to seem wacky to you, post about it here so I can follow up.
As to the mind disease... I'd classify that as an urban legend. It doesn't work. If you are involved in healing yourself, you get no xp, and so the group gets no xp for it. People are convinced this isn't the case, and point to the fact that they are getting 50-100xp. Well, that's easily accountable by someone in the audience being diseased or just being normally wounded. If you were truly healing a group full of people, you would see several hundred healing xp. I had a group of people come to my cantina fresh off the PvP battlefield, and I was getting nearly 1000 healing xp off them, and I was performing solo.
There MAY be a case where the group can get xp off healing an entertainer. I haven't had a chance to confirm or deny it, but it is possible a dancer who is diseased can still be healed by a musician and so give the group xp. As I said, I haven't tested it. It may go the other way as well but that is less likely.

The healing xp is purely a function of how much the group is healing. Everyone in the group shares the same healing xp, so it doesn't get better as you get better. If you are getting 1-5 it's most likely either someone only getting a little healing (If someone does a /tenddamage that gives them exactly 5xp worth of mind wounds and bf) or someone being buffed. Buffing gives between 3-7xp (7 is at master level only).

Thanks Tiaga, your post made a hell of a lot of sense. The under 10 ticks are probably from buffers, I didn't think of that. And I would not be surprised at all if the CM/mind disease trick didn't work at all. I do get 50-100 exp at times but it doesn't seem to be directly related to the mind disease because at other times I get none at all and I make sure that I and everyone else in the group watch a dancer if we are musicians and listen to a musician if we are dancers (this is what someone told me to do). After what you said It makes me wonder if it would be more efficiant to farm healing exp at remote planets where there are a lot of hunters rather than sharing the exp in a large group on starter planets.

If you're looking for the best xp out there, you need to mind disease non-entertainers. Grab some friends to come watch you and get mind diseased. The more the better. Invite other entertainers along so they can bring their friends. They can only make the healing go faster and since everyone gets all the healing experience, it only helps you. The other way if you have a lot of combat medic friends would be to get them to mind heal each other.
That's the best way to get it done fast. I was in a group with a guy from DOOM. He got like 4 or 5 guildies to coem get diseased for him and I got 2 of mine to come get diseased for me. Got like 50k healing xp in like 30 minutes(may have beena little less or more)to get us both to master Dancers.
