I was wondering which profession, Dancer or Musician, is the fastest grind (if there is any real difference in time between the two)?
I've read the post about how to grind them, using flourishes and such, now I'm just trying to decide which one would be fastest. It doesn't seem like there'd be much difference between the two, but I thought I'd ask the experts.
I'm sorry to bother your board with a holo-grinding question. I usually try to avoid cluttering the profession boards with holo-grinding questions. Up until now I've been able to find all my answers in the holo-grinding guides. Any help or suggestions you have would be appreciated.

I believe that Dancer is a faster grind overall assuming that you get enough of the Healing Experiance. That is the longest and generally the hardest of the xp to get no matter what profession you pick. The reason I say Dancer is faster is simply because the xp seems to pick up much faster than musician.

Dancer. You don't have to worry about getting a new instrument, what song the band is playing, or someone in the band typing /stop instead of /stopmusic or /stopdance. (/stop activates the /stopband command, which brings every playing musician in the band to a grinding halt.)

Be prepared for a long grind. Finding healing xp now days is like trying to find Tatooine water vapor . . . on Naboo!

One more question, if I could. Would you level faster in a cantina group, or would it be faster as a solo entertainer with 2 - 3 dedicated diseased spectators?

Having people in your group adds a multiplier to healing and performance xp. You're generally better off in a large group than alone even if you're a master the xp is less alone.

Not only will a group be far faster with experience, but you'll be far less bored and it'll be more likely that a medic will be healing your action wounds. Experience is always fastest in the largest group.
As for which profession is faster, I do think musician would be faster if you could assertain that your group was playing your highest song and you had access to the instruments you needed, because music seems to use less action. Though those things are not generally true.

If you had a band of Musicians and only musicians playing whatever the highest song they can all play together they would in theory do well for performance xp. The main thing though is the "Target Audience Player" is a young male so they will flock to a female dancer first which reduces your odds of getting healing xp.
