The hologrind is not ending with Patch 9, people can still grind thru professions and unlock. The hologrind doesn't end until patch 10, (if then), which is probably at least 2 months away.

I thought it was more like they can grind, and it would count towards their 'reward', but they wouldn't unlock??

Right. The old method of unlocking is dead. But mastering professions will likely still help, so people will do it until Patch 10.

And of course this does nothing to stop the people from creating buff-bots and such. The crowds will goaway a little bitbut many problems will remain. I'm sure that there will still be AFK entertainers in cantinas somewhere. Also, many of the combat professionsmay become upset that there aren't enough of us around to provide a service to them. *rolls eyes*

However, I agree with Rrowann. I wouldn't be surprised if this new Jedi system requires people to go through a profession for each individual quest (and it may not)......That'd be very much like the Devs somehow. Anywhom, sorry for dragging you guys down on a little rant.

Not exactly what I said. The Devs've said there'd be credit given for hologrinding when Patch 10 rolls around, so people will keep hologrinding even though they can't unlock now.

I have no idea how the quests will work, and haven't really bothered to speculate. Usually 'cause I'm wrong.

No worries, I've posted those before. Editing would be a handy thing. *koff*

Yes, patch 9 isn't ending the hologrind. People are still going to do it, and get notified if they unlocked their slot. Patch 10 is the one we're waiting for that will change the way people become Jedi. Taking into consideration the time between most patches, we're looking at about a 2 month wait. So, possibly in the beginning of September we're going to see the end of the hologrind. That's when we're going to really see how much difference it's going to make. I'm trying to be optimistic here. I think once September rolls around, the Cantinas will be much more pleasant. However, patch 10 does nothing to improve the buffbot situation. That's going to take dev involvement.

Actually I believe I read you can't unlock between now and patch 10. No, I don't know where, but I've seen it in a few places. Hologrinding now should just be for credit toward the system to be introduced in patch 10.

Well, I believe that you can still unlock your slot and you will be notified that you have done so. However, you won't be able to *use* that slot and become a Jedi until patch 10. In other words, people are still continuing to hologrind until they receive that little notice that they've unlocked. So, even though there will be no new Jedi in existence between now and Patch 10, the method to actually unlock has not yet changed, and people will still do it because they will be notified if they hit the right mastery. So, because people aren't blindly grinding and still have a method to know whether or not they have unlocked, they continue to grind.
