Thread: Entertainer Profession Idea should be heavily supported by playerbase

I find that now entertainer skills and ablilities have gone seriously stale and useless.* I'm wondering why there isn't ANY support for the idea of removing or seriously reducing the skill point need of entertainer/musician/dancer/image designer professions? I would not ask if the precedent hadn't been set with Politician skills, but it has, so I do.

Discuss.

*yes, inspiration buffs are neat, but nothing that an npc/terminal couldn't provide, and battle fatigue healing is a self justifying reason for usefulness, as it would not exist were it not for entertainers.

PS to the moderators; I assume my previous post on this matter was deleted by accident. I forgive you. I do however feel that this issue warrants open discussion and adressing by the development team, so I repost my original message as closely asI remember here.

This issue has been discussed without end already, do we really need more of it?

And even if it might surpise you: I'm strictly against a reduction or even removal of skillpoint costs for Entertainer professions.

As am I, it wil give the Devs an excuse to ignore us, especially if Skill Points are removed.

I think you're wrong aboutskillpoint costremoval being heavily supported by the playerbase. I want my professions made better, not closed up and given up on.

Preemptive argument-Uselessness is NOT the reason sp cost for Politician was removed. The fact that politician is a community driven profession and that the political landscape should be dynamic is why it was done.

QFE.

I agree with you 100%. And the reason why the post was probably deleted, as to do with an insult to the Entertainer professions. /shrug

Some of us don't see our profession or skills as 'stale and useless'. Yes, there are always things to improve, as with all the professions. However, I happen to enjoy what I do as a 100% all Entertainer character. My game is quite lively and fun. YMMV.

Actually I don't see the thought of reducing skillpoints as an insult at all. I do see the complete removal of the SP cost as an insult since I think it conveys the message that "entertainer professions are hobbies not real professions".

However, I would support the reduction of skill points, but not because I think the professions are now "useless". I'd support it because I am a hybrid entertainer-combat player. Combat professions now require more skill points so those who have hybrid characters are at a disadvantage and face tougher choices. I don't think a drastic reduction would be necessary nor wanted even by those who support the idea of a reduction. Perhaps simply a 15 point reduction. In my opinion that wouldn't devalue the entertainer professions but would allow any of us the ability to pick up another novice skill or regain a few of the skills in another profession.

I won't comment on the rest of the original post since I don't agree with it and starting that debate would only degenerate into something that gets deleted or locked.

I would fight tooth and nail against the removal of our skill points. A reduction would be a possible consideration ONLY if it were to make our professions more in line with other professions. What I want to see is a meaningful use of our now useless xp trees.

Entertainers are not about what we can give to the combat classes. Many of us were here before there were buffs. We are more than the sum total of your assumptions.

Amen to that.
