Thread: Armor as Clothing/Costume

I apologize if anybody has brought this up before, but the search is currently down and I didn't see anything about it when I did a manual look, but what do you people think of Entertainers (Masters only perhaps?) being able to wear any armor almost like clothes, and justnot receive the bonuses or disadvantages. Several of my friends who were entertainers before the CU used pieces of armor as clothing along with actual clothing to make outfits that fit them. Now, with the CU, the only way for them to do this is to get novice in a combat profession that has proficiency in the armor type they want, and that takes up needed skill points. Or maybe they could make newclothing that replicated the look of the armor.

Trust someone who was a member of the CU alpha outcasts. The issue was brought up, fought over, sent out, sent back, buried in soft peat for 3 months, and recycled as firelighters (to paraphrase a much better writer than me). We want costumes, we want props, we miss them all, and its one of the many things that sucks about the CU for Entertainment. It was not allowed to pass without a major cry and battle though.

Ok. It was something that bothered my friends and I, and since I barely touched entertainer before CU, I wasn't sure what had been done regarding it.

There have been posts on the Dancers Forum about this as well. The generalthought from the community is to make it possible to have "costume armor". Perhaps we'll get lucky and see that in the Entertainer Revamp or even in a Crafter Revamp in the future. I know I personally used to use padded armor boots quite a bit with my dance outfits. I can now only wear recon armor and those boots just don't look like something you'd dance in. By all means keep adding your idea to the posts asking for our input on what we'd like to see added to the profession. Our correspondents (for all the entertainer profs) are a great bunch.

I'd like to see a /makeProp command or something similar. Using it would make an item wearable by anyonebut remove all the advantages/protections etc. Put the command in the Master Entertainer box perhaps to give more reason to get ME by other professions other than Musician.

Better solution, to save on the reources and factory time to make armor/weapons.

Give Entertainers orArtisansa schematic for "Filler" or some appropriate name. Have it low on resource, and not complex at all (easy to crank out en masse in a factory) Revise Armor and weapon schematics so that in addition to normal reources and components, all slots will accept the cheap filler, and then be created as a zero stat piece of Armor/Weapon.

One of the big arguments given to us about weapon certs and unequipability during the Alpha was "professional identity"well they pretty much flushed most of that down the toilet during Beta, since now most crafted weapons are certed based on combat lvl, and only a few require specific boxes. I think that any weapon that only requires "Combat level X" to use should be craftable as a prop, with a combat level requirment of 1. Keep the fancy ones that require boxes as is, but throw us a bone and give us some props!
