An entertainers' job is to contribute to the creation and maintaining of a pleasant social hub atmosphere in the cantina for the purpose of making players want to spend time in the cantina socializing. There is no variation in the job description between entertainer, dancer and musician. The benefits of an in-game social hub are really too numerous to list, but a few include a centralized location to look for groups for exp and players who can offer training and a greater ease in finding crafters and people with other specific skill sets you may be looking for.

Among the tools given to us to accomplish this are the battle fatigue system and the inspiration buff system. These act as a sort of bait to help us entice players into the cantina - the actual job is to get them to stay.

If you are thinking of becoming an entertainer, I recommend trying both dance and music and continuing on with whichever you like more!

Please remember that AFKing, spamming, tip begging, and other similar anti-social behaviors detract heavily from our job and are currently making it very difficult, if not impossible, to have anything near a proper social hub. Fixes for some of these behaviors have been promised to us, thankfully, and as a healthy entertainer atmosphere begins to return peer pressure will hopefully tidy up the rest of it.
