Thread: Entertainer Top Issues Thread
This thread is NOT for discussing bugs! Please go to the Bug Reporting Thread if you wish to discuss bugs. This does not mean you may not post bugs as a top issue, it just means please take discussion of bugs elsewhere so as not to clutter this thread.
What this thread is for is the introduction and discussion of various issues Entertainers face. This will be the list I generally end up drafting our top 10's and 5's from. The past Top Issues thread (and links to ones even further back) is found HERE.

Here is an updated version of the list LeBob posted last, just to get us started. ![]()
Please feel free to reorder or renumber these and add new ones as you see fit!
Entertainer Top Issues
- The spelling of one of our instruments "a Fizzz" is inconsistent. Please replace all instances of "a Fizz" with "a Fizzz". Also, "a Bandfill" always has a single space after the name when crafting one. This is only a minor annoyance, but should also be extremely easy to fix.
- Entertainer mission pay should scale with skill level, and the current base should remain for Novice Entertainers. These also could use a redesign as they are rather uninteresting. Also, all of the missions improperly have "Dancer" in the description of the mission. The missions also all picture a Nalargon. This makes Entertainer missions very confusing, especially for newcomers.
- The Force Sensitive bonus should be for BF and not Mind Wounds (Inspiration Buffs). Mind wound mods are easy to get since these can be looted and made by BEs. BF healing mods can only be looted. Mind Wound healing mods are very inexpensive compared to BF healing mods so almost everyone is already maxed on MW healing. MW healing as a FS bonus is of very little value considering this. This is especially true since double-Master Elites can apply the Inspiration buff in as little as 30 seconds anyway.
- Entertainers want the ability to disable our "Your perform a flourish" and "Your band performs a flourish" spam. A /command could be added to toggle the spam so that no UI changes would be necessary.
- We have recently discovered that Master Entertainers are able to edit special fireworks package options. We would like this documented in our skill box, and some would like if it was moved to Novice Entertainer and enabled for mass production in some way.
- Only five Entertainer/Musician instruments have unique sounds. Please give the other five instruments unique sounds.
- Entertainer instrument quality has no significance.
- Make /denyservice a permanent and visiblelist like /addignore instead of having itreset at server restart. Some have suggested making the /denyservice and /addignore lists identical, although some would not like this.
- Some Enterainers want the ability to heal BF in a camp.
- The Master Entertainer skill box provides nothing for IDs and little for Dancers.
- A special new ME-only holo-emote or other currently available holo-emotes with the exception of the "All" option.
- Ability to place a PC theater.
- A boost in BF healing.
- Ability to /register
- Certification for playback and effects droids
- There are no customization options for Sullustan males, or for Wookiees and Mon Cals of both genders, until eye color at ID 2. Ithorians have no eye color customization which means that until Novice ID they have no change that grant 300 xp, but rather only have changes which grant 100 xp. All other species can take advantage of the 300 xp with eye color at ID 2.
- Unattended gameplay.
- With the EH changes, our XP has been quite wonky. We want to know what the devs intend for our XP gain to be and for it to remain steady.
- Entertainers have a very difficult time getting profession-appropriate loot since most of it is obtained via combat.
- If Entertainers' primary means of economic advancement is to remain in the hands of non-Entertainers, we would like some form of secure payment.
- Entertainers want profession-specific clothing.
- Droids should be able to be grouped in space.
- With the recently added NPC Actor Player Event Perks, Entertainers would like to be able to hire NPC Entertainers to perform with (but not provide any mechanic advantage - only aesthetic).
Entertainer Elite Issues
- Omni Box / Nalargon can be moved by any player. Entertainers playing one of these are often harassed by someone moving their instrument. Please disallow everyone but the owner and people in one's group from doing this. Group mates should be allowed to, because this may be necessary to allow the feature of up to four Entertainers to play the Nalargon at once (which already exists).
- Disallow Entertainers from /register in a PC medical center and also disallow Medics from /register in a PC cantina.
- It is still difficult to locate Entertainers of the desired skill level; one idea is to have a different color icon on the planetary map listing for when an Elite Master /register than when a Novice Entertainer /register.
- Various player owned theater bugs.
- Entertainer Elites want the ability to self-buff. (A re-coding may be necessary to prevent abnormally accellerated XP.)
- We need some way to know for sure that our customers have received a buff. Currently, we have to rely on the word of the customer, and this does not promote a healthy economy for us.
- Theater Manager Quest: On the advertisement missions, sometimes the 10th / 20th / 30th person to listen to you gets the system message instead of you... he/she aslo gets the “You have reached rank one.” message. When this happens, the Theater Manager still allows the Entertainer to progress, but it is extremely confusing to experience this bug (even if one knows of its existence).

I think the first issue is no issue anymore since the CU, we can self-buff
Second issue, I see about the same. Not an issue anymore, but rather replaced by another. Since the CU buff is passive, so we don't even know when we buff someone, which is not good for the economy either (we have to see how cover charges influence that).
I do have a few things that may not seem like much to some.
- Picking missions for the cantina you are performing at is a task. 2-3 clicks some times and up too 200 + clicks to find two missions other times.
- Can not group with others while trying to earn money from missions, it issplit between everyone and 1000 is not very much.If you do not group you gain little XP.I have noticed in combat if the there is 5 people in the group and my Mission paid 10,000. Each member gets 10,000 eachnot 2000 each.
Two minor issues but I have noticed many new players switch away from entertaining because of the two issues in the last 3 day. (well 4 to me is many) ![]()
I'd add that the entertainer mission is also confusing since there's no instruction that tells you to go inside the structure to perform. I used to think that it was just me being a dork but since others have admitted they did the same thing then I'm going to declare it wasn't just me and that the instructions need to be made more obvious.
All of the issues listed are good one so it's difficult to determine which ones I'd consider my top issues. But given the current state of the game I'd have to say my top4 issues would be:
1) experience gain - on small servers this is exceedingly difficult and advancing in the skills is very discouraging. I'm not the least bit surprised that so many new entertainers on Shadowfire set up afk macros for hours on end. (especially since so many of the dances available to them are not very fun)
2) skill point investment - the current skill point investment for the elite entertainer professions is out of proportion to the benefit gained. What's the point in spending as many skill points as a Combat master if I have to then ask the combat master to help me complete Jabba's Themepark for example? The combat master doesn't have to ask for my help in completeing a Themepark or Quest so why should I have to ask them?
3) mission payout - needs to scale for group size and needs to be increased either based upon number of people in the group or skill levels in the group or something. Entertainers who do not get tipped need to have a means of participating in the economy. Splitting a mission for 1100 - 1300 credits with 7 other entertainers makes for a laughable wage, especially since so few entertainers bother getting the missions.
edit: just realized that when I copied this in the 4th item didn't make it so ...
4) more quests for entertainers. The newbie entertainer quest was a fun diversion and I'd like to see more of those.

We just moved them inside. We gather, at a minimum Mon, Wed, Fri to party. Imaji just got her cantina too, come look us up
