Thread: Intergalactic Entertainer Channel Directory

Many servers have an Entertainer chat channel that many of us are probably members of and these are useful not only as a way for Entertainers to find each other and keep in touch, but also for other players to use to find live Ents who would be happy to offer healing or buffing services.

To add to this list I need to know the complete channel name under your server subgroup, and I may need to know if there is a convenient command prefix to access the channel. For example, if I were on the Yoda server, and the channel was 'EntChat' under the 'chat' subgroup, the complete channel name I would need would be chat.EntChat. Please make sure that any channels you submit for inclusion are known public channels that anyone may use. Also note participation in the channels on this list depends on the level of participation of the Entertainers on each particular server, and there may be times during which no Entertainers are participating.

To join any of these channels, the easiest way is to type
/chatroom join (complete channel name) while on that server. This will create a new chat tab in your chat window for that channel. To send messages to the channel you can click on the tab for it and type directly, or from any window you can start the message with the chat channel prefix which is often simply a slash followed by the chat channel name. Using the example from the previous paragraph, while on the Yoda server I could click on the EntChat tab once I create it and talk directly from there. Alternatively I could type /entchat (message) from any chat tab (case shouldn't matter) and send a message that way as well. The only problems you may encounter from this are if two chat channels that you've joined have names where one is contained within the other or the same, but in different subgroups. In these cases you may need to use the complete form such as /chat.entchat (message). It is often convenient for longer term users to drag the tab for your ent channel off the main chat bar and drop near the edge of your screen somewhere so that messages in the channel are always visible regardless of which tab you have selected in your main chat bar, and for this the latter method of sending messages becomes very useful.

(temporarily hidden until I can verify that this works properly) For advanced users, you may even join and participate in the ent channels from other galaxies. If I were on the DarthVader server, and wanted to keep up with the Yoda server Ents, I can join their channel as well by typing /chatroom join yoda.chat.entchat and to send a message I would need to type /yoda.chat.entchat (message).

Actually, this has been done before, in the Dancer forum. But I just went to look for it and it seems to be gone from the sticky FAQ. Thanks for compiling a new one!

On Bria it's ENT, and on Chilastra it's UEC.

Actually, the link is in the Entertainer FAQ. You can find it filed under "Useful Clickies. It's titled "How to find an Entertainer to Heal or Buff you."

While Intrepid may officially have one, it doesn't seem to have been in use for some time....
