Is anyone using this...? I understand the purpose but it seems pretty much useless if you're in a group and you're the only one using it.

Agreed. Make sure you post just such comments in the more watched Live issues thread, and file a bug report. If they don't know that the inconsistencies and loopholes make it pointless, they won't ever try to fix it. Better to make noise now, than wait until it has to become a top5 issue in the coming months.

This isn't the big entertainer revamp they promised after the cu, is it?

I read here that we were going to be top priority and read nothing about multi-passenger vehicles in concept.... so I was just wondering.

Seems like this is a bit of a lame fix for the loss of getting tips for buffs of mind wound heals. Oh and the fact that inspiration buffs are give without grouping or /setp..

They need a few more commands because covercharge will only help in small outposts with one entertainer.

/bandcovercharge - variation of covercharge that applies to the entire band. Not optional up to band leader.

/splittips - A voluntary way to split your tips when in a group.

/givetips - A voluntary option to give all your tips to your bandmates.

/splittips2 - splits tips based on band members effective healing

/givetips2 - gives away your tips based on band members effective healing

/changeband random - This would choose a random song that the entire band (those with instruments equiped) can play

These are just a few ideas but they would give a lot of flexibility.

They should add some more hair styles and stuff for ID especially for masters.

Entertainers should also have combat related abilities... Like master dancers could have seduce... or something that would get hostile NPCs to be more cooperative. Or fake injury which would stop the fight while you pretend to nurse your wound (for a few seconds).

I'm against a /bandcovercharge.

I decide what I charge for my service, noone else. If I decide not to charge thats my decission and if you decide to charge then its yours. But you won't decide for me.

If that would be introduced and my bandleader would set a covercharge I would disband and dance outside the group.

I don't think it should be used all the time but I think it should be available.

I'd like to see band voting options for songs, AFK Leaders and bandcovercharge if it became an option.

Bands are different than other groups in a lot of ways and I think they should have some more options for their members.

As a professional Entertainer (Master Entertainer, Dancer, Musician, and Image Designer) I have nothing else to fall back on to defend myself. But a sexy dancer or actress would most definitely use her skills as an entertainer to sway a situation to their advantage. I'm not suggesting have effects on other players just those nasty NPCs. And nothing major just a little help in the running away scared department mainly.

And no is a sucky reply. Provide some arguement back up your opinion give me a little reasoning to chew on to understand your side. I didn't agree totally with what Coreena said before but I can at least understand her side because she said something to back it up.

This command already exists. If you type /splitCredit it will divide the credits among the group.

Maybe it was abrupt, but there have been a ton of discussions on combat roles and abilities for Entertainers before. Here's the rundown, though.

We're not Bards- by which I mean this isn't a sword n sorcery game where we go round using music and dance in combat to cause effects. When Oola got fed to the Rancor, she didn't Dance it to sleep, she got et.

Your need to "just" get away from NPCs is invalidated by the fact that we have several methods for that already. Anyone can wear a PSG, and everyone can burst run or own a speeder. Town thugs can't 1hit kill even a level1 toon, unless you're standing there AFK and let it happen, and if you're out somewhere as a lvl 1 where you're in that much danger, you won't have time to perform the stunt anyway. Look into getting a bodyguard droid. They rate at lvl18 and when set to defend you, will pull aggro away from your level 1 faster and more reliably than any dancer trick.

Most of the hard work people have been putting into and pushing for in Entertainer development is to enhance the noncombat aspects of the game. Caving in and pushing for combat mods and tricks now goes against all that work, and it goes against the huge segment of this community that wants little or nothing to do with combat.

Every profession gets a limited amount of Dev time when their turn comes up for issues to get addressed, and I would much rather see a focused effort on a focused set of goals instead of halfway measures on an indecisive mix of combat/noncombat abilities.

When the CU was begun, every profession was looked at for possible inclusion. Entertainers were "not in the scope" even though we could have been, because it was a conscious decision based on Dev thought and Community opinion. It's come back to bite us since, but we knew things would get worse before they got better. The ship has sailed on Combat, and the entertainer part of me doesnt miss it.

Much better! Thank you!

I didn't expect to charm any rancors. I'm not suggesting something super powerful but being charming is a basic part of being an entertainer I don't expect charm to work on beasts. Persuasion and Charm are things an entertainer should have available to them. I don't see these as combat tactics so CU shouldn't have any bearing on it. Getting away was just an idea for example there could be a great number of applications that was just the suggest I though of at the time. Reason being Corsec NPCs have been attacking entertainers in cantinas which is why that example came to mind.
