From what I can tell, Entertainer doesnt seem worth it to get. To only heal BF and do a 10% exp buff...is that all they do? I heard something about a revamp, could someone post a few details about that? I realize its probably somewhere on the boards, but I do not have the time nor inclination to go searching through hundreds of posts to find it. Will this "revamp" give entertainers "something" that will make people want to skill a entertainer?

Simply put, entertainer really isn't worth getting if you're interested in fighting or crafting.

If you want to dance, play music, image design, or put on a show, then the entertainment professions are worthwhile.

Battle fatigue will be disappearing soon, so the only "functional" aspect of entertainers will be providing inspiration buffs. We are supposed to be getting new buffs, but there are no details onthose as of yet.

No, there is absolutely no reason to become an entertainer, musician, or dancer.

It is a RP profession and the skill point investment will prevent you from experiencing the rest of the game.

While there is still BF, it only takes one entertainer per server to heel all the BF on that server.

Whilethey can give an inspiration buff, it is a very minor buff and most crafters don't go out of their way to get it.If they did, once again, that one entertainer on the server can do that also passively.

As an entertainer from the beginning of SWG, it pains me to say all this, but its the honest thing to do.

I say give it a shot and see if you like it.

SWG is cool because if you decide you don't likea profession, just drop it and work towards a new one.

You can be a Tailor, Image Designer, and Master Artisan one day, then that night drop it all and work towards Rifleman and Swordsman.

Give it a shot and see what you think. Entertainers are mostly about having fun and creating a fun atmosphere for others in the game. It's function will soon be made less "needed" and more "wanted" according to the Devs. We'll be able to do some buffs, but the battle fatigue healing is going away sometime.

So, pick up a Slitherhorn, start dancing, start changing people's hairstyles and eye color, and see if you like Entertainer. If you don't, no harm done - keep searching for something you find fun.

The thing I like the most about being a musician in this game is you are actually able to be creative. You can just start playing and let the basic track run, or take the 8 flourish tracks and mix em up to create an actual song. Then the next day you can play the same song in a different way.

I have a lot of fun between crafting or combat going to the cantina taking out my mando and rocking with vets or new players. I've never experienced musical content/creativity like what is in SWG. The skill point investment to be a dancer or musician is not so much that you cannot take part in other professions.

I'm a master shipwright with master entertainer, 2040 music (it has already been brought up with the devs that moving the instruments to the current bf line will hurt a lot of people), I round out this template with something like 3122 merchant.

With this I can fully take part in crafting and selling. I can play all but one song and one instrument. I dropped most of the healing part of musician because the music and entertaining is why I enjoy musician and it was the only way to stay a shipwright/merchant and play the Mandoval. Nice to be able to inspire myself as well. As far as master entertainer goes, I dig being able to make minor adjustments to the way I look, and even be able to do a few decent dances.

I used to be master dancer and made a killing not because I healed bf or mind wounds, but because my dancing was very entertaining.

So that's my take on the entertainment professions.

It's always been true that Entertainer was only worth getting if you enjoy entertainment -- that is, if you enjoy the social aspect of the game, and the dancing and music. If you don't like that, there's never been any point to being an entertainer. The healing was never something that could satisfy you if you didn't like entertaining itself.

I agree with the wookiee... Try it and see if you enjoy the ACT of entertaining. If you don't, dump it. If you do, don't worry about your 'role' so much. Just have fun.
