Sorry if this is a repeat or anything, I looked back a couple pages and didn't see anything there or in the FAQ. The search is offline so I couldn't scan for the answer.

What is a typical covercharge for a master ent/dance/musician?

Seems to be quite a difference of opinion on what is acceptable. I realize this will differ from server to server based on local economics, but I think it'd still be a good range to see what everyone's charging.

I don't use it at all myself... and find I am still getting decent tips from people simply by beting ATK.

As an example, I logged in on a character I created on Veritas the other day and had a jam session in the Theed Cantina with a friend... because of the chat window bug, I can no longer keep several chat windows open at the same time or I'll have to redo them every time I log in, so while I was performing, I didn't notice any tips coming in... but when I went to log out, I saw that I had 31k credits on hand even though I had deposited all my credits in the bank when I had first logged in. We ended up with quite a party going on that night... the cantina had been practically empty when we had arrived, and was jumping by the time I was ready to log.

ATK is definitely the way the go. I get lots of good tips for simply socializing. /covercharge seems like a afk'er tool.

I don't use /covercharge either. When I perform in a cantina the patrons vary greatly. One moment there may be someone just off the transport shuttle and the next there will be a Jedi Knight. Because of that I don't think there's any way to determine what to /charge someone for healing or getting an inspiration buff. Plus my server still has a lot of afkers so even if I did choose a fee the patron could just decide to watch or listen to an afker rather than pay a covercharge. Tipping also varies greatly. Some nights I'll make quite a bit and others I'll be lucky to make any tips at all.

I personally don't like the idea of a covercharge because in my opinion if our "pay" is going to be dependent upon the patrons then they will have to be the ones who determine what the value is. That's why I'm all in favor of the devs ditching /covercharge and increasing the mission payouts on the ent terminals.

My cover charge is.... zero.

I don't personally know anyone who has a cover charge. But I also don't personally know any Long-term AFK Macro Entertainers. What they charge, I have no idea. Whatever it is, I wouldn't pay it, because they're AFK and don't deserve a dime.

Like the rest of the replies, I have never and will never use the covercharge facility. I prefer to rely upon the good nature of those who watch or listen to my performance. Interaction with the audience is of course the key.

I have said this from the first day I walked into Anchorhead cantina - if you want to make money don't be an entertainer (pick up a gun and go shoot something). The only exception to this is Image Design - a good ID can make a great living from providing a quality service.

Covercharge has only served to keep the AFK bots in the cantinas and I will applaud SOE/Lucasarts when they finally remove it.

Never tried it, don't think I ever will.

When on Ahazi, I also will not listen/watch anyone with the covercharge. even if they are AKB, Iwill go on my way, so I mostly go with out a inspiration buff anyways. (most are AFK on that server)

Except the great entertainers at bestine!
